She had invited Jean to handle Brad, hoping that their physical involvement would make Brad treat Jean better and speed up his divorce from Nadine. Yet, Jean had failed to take advantage of the opportunity.

Since she liked Brad, I told her to go straight to Phoenix Villa. However, I don't know how she got in," Evelyn explained vaguely.

Even though Jean hadn't achieved Evelyn's goal, Evelyn didn't want to completely discard her. It was a crucial time to get rid of Nadine, and Jean's help was still needed.
