FAREWELL?
Layla had always been drawn to Nolan but she never thought she’d act on it. He did not like her after all. But one night, everything changed. They found themselves alone together, and she couldn’t resist the pull she felt towards him.
From that night on, they began to hook up whenever they could. But as time went on, Layla started to develop feelings for Nolan that went beyond just physical attraction.
As time went on, Layla struggled to reconcile her feelings for Nolan with the reality of their situation. She knew they couldn’t be together as true mates. And she also knew that she couldn’t continue to deny her feelings. So she did the only thing she could think of – she tried to distance herself from him. But every time she tried to stay away, she found herself drawn back to him. It was like a magnet, pulling her towards him no matter how hard she tried to resist.
She felt maybe it was because of the mate bond between them.
The more she thought about it, the more sense it made. She’d always heard that mates were drawn to each other, even if they didn’t want to be. It was almost like a force of nature, something beyond their control. And that’s how it felt with Nolan. No matter how much she tried to fight it, she was drawn to him, body and soul. But could it really be just the mate bond? Or was it just a physical attraction?
She thought if he also felt the same way towards her or was he just using her body to fulfill his sexual desires
That was the question that plagued Layla’s mind. Did Nolan feel the same way about her, or was she just a convenient outlet for his physical needs? She wanted to believe that he cared for her as much as she wanted to care for him, but she was afraid to ask. Afraid of what his answer might be. She knew she had to find out the truth, but she didn’t know how.
They remained enemies during the day as he was cold at day, warm at night.
It was like a Jekyll and Hyde situation, with Nolan’s personality seemingly split into two halves. During the day, he was cold and distant, never giving her a second glance. But at night, he was passionate and loving, making her feel like the only woman in the world. It was like he was two different people, and Layla didn’t know which one was the real him. But she knew she had to find out. Otherwise, she would never be able to move on.
On that very day when she was lost in her thoughts, Xander appeared at their door.
“Hey Xander, how are you?” She asked happy to see him. He was another friend of hers who she knew really cared for her.
“Hey, Layla!” Xander said, a wide smile on his face.
“I’m surprised to see you here..” Layla voiced out as it was already evening that he showed up at their doorstep.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s been a while since I visited this place..” he hummed walking into the house.
“Where’s Nolan?” Xander asked and Layla pointed to the dinning room where Nolan was seated with a cup of coffee in front of him.
“Hi man..” he walked over to Nolan as he tapped his shoulders.
“Hey..” Nolan said not looking up from his laptop.
“What brings you here?” He asked.
“Well nothing much. Actually there’s a new club in town..” Xander began. That was the kind of person Xander was. Carefree, he believed in living life to the fullest and he had all the fun he could get in the world.
That man had basically visited all the clubs, bars and hotels that existed. He was a Playboy, a cute one and ladies couldn’t resist his charms any always fell for it. Aurora being one of them.
He was what the ladies called a Casanova.
“So?” Nolan eyes narrowed. Why was Xander telling him about a new club.
“I want you to come along..” he invited.
“Okay!!” Nolan replied slowly without hesitation. The idea of cooling off a little was not bad.
Layla who was standing at a corner listening to their conversation frowned when Nolan agreed, do she was going to be alone yet again.
“Layla you too. Come with us..” Xander invited as Layla immediately looked up, what was he saying?
“No. You know I can’t..” she replied putting emphasis on the word can’t.
He knew she was pregnant yet he was inviting her to a club.
“Don’t worry I understand, but trust me you can stay away from alcohol and the rest. You’re only going to have fun..” he chimed in as he understood the real meaning behind her words.
“I don’t know. I’m not sure..” Layla hesitated a bit. She’d never visited a club before.
“Please take this as me asking you a favor and also take this as a farewell party from me to you” he said as Layla’s brows narrowed in confusion.
“Farewell?”
“Yes. Nolan didn’t tell you?” He questioned as Layla shook her head. Nolan never mentioned anything to her about farewell.
“Why didn’t you tell her Nolan?” Xander turned to Nolan who lifted his head from the laptop.
“It wasn’t necessary..” he replied.
” I’ll tell her instead then. You both are returning to the pack house by next week..” he announced.
“And it’s best if you do the needful before then..” he said in a tone that kind of sounded like an advice.
Layla just stood quietly not knowing how to react or anything, they were finally leaving which means Nolan was done with whatever he had to deal with here. And Xander just codedly told her to tell Nolan the truth.
“Just come with us Layla. Nolan won’t even object..” he persuaded as Layla slowly shook her head.
“Okay I will” she reluctantly agreed to his request.
“Great! Then go get dressed and let’s hit the road!” Xander announced happily, he was the life of the party. There was never a dull moment with him around.
