Rebirth of the Wife in Despair

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Chapter 18 I’ll Be Sure To Pay Him Pay

Eileen did not see any of Eric’s messages, because there was not a single part of her body that was not in pain.

It was the kind of bone-deep, agonizing pain!

Someone could be heard talking near her.

…..Thank god you sent her over in time, or this could’ve been so much worse. We’ve reattached her ribs, and she should stay in bed in the next few days. We recommend keeping her in the hospital for supervision.”

“She should also eat lighter foods, nothing too greasy or heavy.”

“Alright, alright. Thank you, Doctor.”

The doctor left, and the phone a man in a suit was holding rang. The bodyguard picked up, and said respectfully, “Sir.”

“How is she?” The voice coming from the phone was cold and cutting.

The bodyguard described whatever happened to Eileen in detail.

“That’s about it. She’s out of critical condition now.”

“Look into this. Remember not to alert anyone, and find out who did this in the next three days. I’m going to make them pay.”

“What are you planning to do, Sir?”

“That’s my own business.”

“Alright, Sir!”

The call ended, and Eileen seemed to hear Jasper’s voice.

It faded after a while.

Eileen did not stay awake for long, falling unconscious again.

Three days had passed when she woke up again.

Eileen’s injuries were extremely severe, and she had broken a few ribs.

The wound on her wrist had split open when she was found, bleeding everywhere. She was already unconscious, and would have bled to death if she had been found any later,

Around ten at night, Eileen could vaguely hear the sound of someone crying next to her.

“My poor girl…”

Eileen’s finger twitched as her vision cleared up slowly and she croaked out, “Sh… Sharon… It h- hurts….” She felt like her organs had been pulverized, and her bones ground to dust.

Sharon looked at the patient on the bed in shock, clutching Eileen’s hand gently with reddened eyes. “I know. Eileen. Just a minute, I’ll get the doctor.“

The tranquilizers had worn off, and Eileen had been woken up from the immense pain.

Tears came out of her eyes, sliding into her hair.

She had battled late stage cancer for three months when the doctor said that she only had a week to live.

Was this just her fate?

The doctor came over quickly enough, running a full-body test on Sharon. “She’s healed pretty well in the last few days. Try to keep her from moving too much, in case the wounds split open again.”

Yes, of course… Can she eat now that she’s awake?”

“Yes, but she should stick to fluids and a lighter diet.”

“Thank you, Doctor.”

The doctor changed Eileen’s IV bag, and left.

Sharon did not dare to touch Eileen too much, only clutching her hand and wiping the tears from her face. “Don’t worry, Eileen. I’ll be by your side.”

Eileen teared up again at the words. The pain she was feeling reminded her of the pain she had been in from her past life.

She was alone even at the end of her days.

Now she had Sharon, and Eileen finally felt like she was not alone anymore.

Sharon had been the only one who had given Eileen any NôvelDrama.Org content.

warmth.

“Mr. Swan found out about what happened to you, and he’s rushing back. He’ll be here by tomorrow. Mr. Snow’s still at work, and he’ll be here when he’s done. He’s been by your side in the past few days where you were unconscious, staying here until the wee hours of the morning.”

Eileen held back the searing pain in her chest. “Tell him he doesn’t have to come anymore. It’s late, I don’t want to disrupt his work.”

“Alright, I’ll tell Mr. Snow.”

“If he insists on coming over, tell him I’ve woken up.

Eileen did not want to see Mr. Snow?

How strange. Hadn’t she always clung to him back then?

She would demand for him to feed her by hand every time she fell sick, even if it was just a small cold. Eileen seemed to be pushing Mr. Snow away these days.

Around half past ten at night, Eric finished his meeting and got off work. He was thoroughly fatigued. He took the elevator to the parking lot, and saw a slender figure asleep in the car.

Eric was about to open the door, when his phone rang. He walked away to pick up the call. “Sharon. How’s Eileen?”

“The doctor said she’s healing pretty well. She just fell asleep, and it’s pretty late. I don’t think you should come over, Mr. Snow. Let Eileen rest, I’ll watch over her on my own.”

Eric frowned. “Alright, I understand.”
