Rejected By Him Claimed By His Uncle (Rita and Leo)

Chapter 102

ALPHA ATLAS'S POV

Elaina's question nagged me. Why did I go back to save her?

On a normal day, I would have left her without feeling a thing, because she was being rude and I was big on respect. Everyone in the pack knew what a tiny show of disrespect would cause them, so why did I save Elaina even when I had said that I would not. 'She was our mate,' Thunder, my wolf, said. 'Of course, you are to save her

'She was. She is no longer our mate. I rejected her,' I said back to the wolf. "Trying to save her is the last thing I should do because she no longer mean anything to me.'

'You shouldn't have rejected our mate,' Thunder grunted. 'And, guess what? Your effort was partially in vain, because you still care about her.'

That was not true. I was not the first wolf to reject a mate. And from what I know, rejecting a mate meant cutting every single connection with whoever one rejected, so why on earth will I still care for Elaina?

'You don't know what you are saying,' I replied to Thunder and the wolf said nothing in return.

Thunder's silence, however, meant a lot of things. It was like the wolf was asking me to watch and see without saying so.

I did feel a little bad for rejecting Elaina, but that was all. The only thing I should be focused on was finding Athena. I had made a promise to myself never to get a Luna and get an heir until I found Athena. It was why I rejected Elaina in the first place.

'And that is very stupid of you. How are you sure you would know her when you find her?' Thunder asked and I frowned at how the wolf invaded my privacy. I quickly blocked him from my thoughts and continued thinking.

Thunder's words were true though. What if I never find Athena? I heaved a sigh of frustration. Then, that will mean that my parents would have to give birth to another heir if they wanted the Alpha position to still be in their lineage, because I was not ready to break this promise of mine.

I looked at my door. I was feeling the growing need to check up on Elaina.

'You still care about her.' I looked away from the door as soon as I recalled Thunder's words.

I had to prove Thunder wrong. I no longer have any business with Elaina, but as the seconds increased, the need to check up on her increased too.

"I'll take a stroll," I said out loud, specifically so that Thunder would hear and know that I was not leaving the room to take a stroll and not to look for Elaina.

I left the room and began to head toward her room, worried about the fact that I already knew the way to her room.

From afar, I sighted two wolves and Elaina. Elaina was on the ground, crying. The biggest of the wolves held a knife at her face. "If you shout, you're done for. Now, tell me what you heard

My blood boiled and without thinking, I sprung into action. I stormed over to the wolves, dragged them away from Elaina and beat both of the wolves till they were no longer conscious.

Elaina fainted too and my heart sank at the realization that they had beaten her up very well. The worst part was knowing that my rejection definitely weakened her.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

I focused on Elaina and made a phone call to the guards to take the wolves that I had beaten up to one of the mansion's

prisons.

I decided to take Elaina to my room. The plan was to let her remain in my book until she regained consciousness.

I tended to the wounds of hers that refused to heal and watched her sleep until the break of dawn.

My parents, the popular Alpha Leo and Luna Rita called and I picked up the call. It was a video call.

"Why did you reject your mate?" My mother asked immediately picked the call. She sounded angry and disappointed too.

"Mom, can we not talk about this? I have real issues to tend to."

"Getting a mate and an heir is a real issue to tend to," my father, the former Alpha said. "There are tons of eyes on the position you occupy. Any little opportunity and someone will try to take away your position. Don't let that happen. Being an Alpha is tough and challenging. You need a good she-wolf by your side. Someone like your mother.

Finding someone like my mother was almost impossible. My mother was one of the few Lunas to make a name for themselves in the wereworld without depending on the success of my father.

My mother was an all rounder. She was beautiful, intelligent and smart.

"Don't you want what your father and I share?" My mother asked and I grunted in reply to that question.

To be sincere, I wanted to have exactly what my parents had with each other, but with Athena being yet to be found, I was not ready for that.

"Son, I'm not happy with how you rejected your mate." I knew where my mother was coming from. I knew of how my mother's first mate was the nephew of my father. I recalled the story I was told of how he had rejected my mother and I could not help but feel guilty. "Mom, I had to," I said and my parents looked dissatisfied and displeased at my

words.

"What do you mean you had to? Let's be sincere, you had no reason for rejecting her. If you tell us why you rejected your fated mate, then we will let you go."

I could not tell them about Athena, so I resorted to lying. "She's a nobody. She's nothing, but a poor maid and she is not fit to be my Luna. Didn't the moon goddess see the beauties of the pack to make my mate. Why was it her? I decided to take

own hands and reject her, because the mere sight of her irritates me." my matters into

"I guessed right." I turned to the bed abruptly as soon as I heard Elaina's tiny and sad voice.

She immediately got off my bed and rushed to the door. She paused, looked at me and opened her mouth to tell me something.
