Chapter 72
After leaving the small cottage. I decided to stop by Mr. Rio's house. He was not around and when I asked his neighbors, they told me he had been away from the neighborhood for a long time now. "Do you know why he left?" I asked and I got the same answer each time I asked someone.
Two big wolves on black visited him a few days after he testified in your favor. The very next day, we realized that he was gone. We don't know if he is gone for good or if he is only on a trip. But as we speak, we have not heard from him." This had to be Sebastian's doing. It was obvious. I clenched my jaw. I was stupid for not following Mr. Rio up. Now, I had to make sure he was safe. I made asked a few more people, made a few calls, but I got nothingThis material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Before anybody could figure out who I was, I immediately left the place, but I did not go back to the mansion.
I went to my former house. The place I grew up with Taylor, her mother and our father. I did not go in though. They were no longer family anyways, so I just stood and watched from afar
I wanted to go in, walk straight to my father and his wife's room and unlock the time box they had with them, but I did not.
I was scared of stepping a foot into that house. They could kill me in the process. If I wanted to visit, I would make sure a few other people knew where I was. Like Janice, the Beta or my mate or all of them. I will go with a few warriors too.
Someone amongst that family killed my mother. They can definitely do the same to me. I let out an exasperated sigh. I had always known that I did not belong here. But, on the other hand, getting killed by these people was the last thing I could have ever thought. Well, not until now,
A few years ago, I knew them to be bullies not killers. Now, a lot has changed. Some months back, Taylor tried to kill me and my father, who I had expected to stand by me, rebuked me instead.
Whoever watched a killer kill another was the same as the killer. He probably knew that my mother, his mate, was poisoned. Well, I had to find that out too. If that's the case, I will make sure he goes down with whoever killed my mother and I suspect my mother's murderer to be his wife.
After watching the house from afar for a while, I left and this time around, I went back to the mansion.
I met Janice in my room waiting for me and off course, she scolded me for leaving the house.
"Janice, I just have a lot on my plate. I wore a veil so no one will recognize me after all."
"You don't know that for sure, Janice pointed and I fell back on the bed.
"Well, I am back home safe."
"Thank goodness that was the case. I was worried sick." She joined me on the bed. "So, where did you go?" "To find the person who poisoned my mother."
Walt
What?
"My mother turned out to be truly poisoned," I said sadly.
"She was. I thought you stopped by visiting your aunt because she kept on saying that. Why are you saying so now." Because it is true. My mother was actually poisoned and I lived with the person who poisoned her all my life."
She cocked an eyebrow: "Your step-mother.
"My father's wife. My eyes welled up and I sobbed. Janice drew doser, took me in her arms and began to caress my hair. "They'll both pay."
"You don't need them any longer. Don't cry. You have me. You have your mate and even Darius. They don't deserve you."
"But it still hurts. Today, I visited that place and my mind went all the way back to when it began. How I was ever ready to embrace my new life. Embrace my 'new mom and my sister. Bu, they secluded me in whatever they did, including my father Janice, if Alpha Leo had not stepped in the time he did. Taylor would have killed me. But, my father watched her mother slap me and he scolded me too. I have never wronged them, but all they've done is show me hate."
Janice held me closer. And all I have ever done is love you. Your mate too. He was willing to leave his position as Alpha. Leave your past and enjoy this present. Yes, things are a little rough now, but with time everything will fall into place, so why are you still dwelling on the price?"
I brought my hand to my face and wiped my tears away. Janice was right. There was no need to cry over people that do not deserve even my tears in the first place.
It still hurts though. But, I shouldn't care.
I leaned closer to Janice and gave her a small smile. "Thank you for being a good friend.
Janice was one in a million. Me meeting her was one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
She fondled the tip of my nose and smiled back. "You're welcome. I hope you have deleted those nasty people from your thoughts already though
I nodded. "I have. They don't deserve to occupy my mind after all. But, I'm still getting back at them. I just have to confirm my suspicion and it's over for my father's wife "Yes. We are definitely teaching that evil she-wolf tons of lessons
We both laughed. I looked at her, wondering how things were with her and Darius.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked.
"I'm just wondering when I would see Darius' mark on you."
She blushed and smiled a little before a frown overtook her face
"What's wrong?" I asked, noticing the frown.
"Darius and I are never getting together." I could hear the pain in her voice. "Why?"
