Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 49

Sabrina stood in the foyer, watching Gerald's car drive away. It was not until the vehicle had vanished entirely from her view that she finally turned around.

Through the hotel's floor-to-ceiling window, she saw Nelson standing by the fish pond, feeding the fish.

He wasn't wearing a jacket, and the black shirt accentuated his impressive figure. No one could ignore him.

Sabrina walked back and quietly stood behind him. Since she had approached him, she was ready to face his punishment.

Nelson turned around to see Sabrina gazing up at him with an air of resigned determination. It was as if she was prepared to face the worst.

At that sight, he could not help but chuckle.

"You knew I'd be mad if I saw you with Gerald, but you did it anyway."

Sabrina did not defend herself. She didn't think Nelson would believe whatever she said anyway.

Her current demeanor mirrored the expression she had when Pamela threw her brooch.

Nelson wanted Sabrina to explain herself at that time, but she did not. That was because she was convinced that he would side with Pamela. So, she had let him misunderstand her.

Then, Nelson scattered the remaining fish food in his hand before clapping his hands.

"Come on. Let's go home," he said.

Sabrina was taken aback. She was surprised to see that was the extent of it.

He didn't resort to sarcastic remarks or hurtful words, nor did he drag her into the restroom, grip her chin, and demand, "Do you even remember anything I've said?"

"I'm tired of doing everything you're thinking," Nelson uttered.

Hearing that made Sabrina feel awkward.

Nelson picked his jacket off the bench, put it on, and held her hand before walking out.

Sabrina was at a loss for words.

After getting into the car, Nelson proceeded to reply to messages.

Sabrina, on the other hand, stared out the window. She was in disbelief over the recent events.

When Dylan saw them holding hands as they entered the car, he assumed Nelson would finally treat Sabrina right.

As an outstanding assistant, Dylan reckoned he should handle every aspect of his boss' life.

Hence, he commented, "Mrs. Tucker, today wasn't meant to cause you trouble. Mr. Tucker simply wanted to help you resolve things." NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

Sabrina was baffled while Nelson, who had been texting, lifted his head.

"It won't kill you if you stay silent."

Dylan added, "Mrs. Tucker, men can be prideful. He feels awkward reaching out to you, but he has asked me what you're up to daily. That's how he knew about your situation. Mr. Tucker is concerned about you."

Nelson was perplexed. He wondered when he had asked about Sabrina's affairs.

Sabrina felt uneasy at Dylan's words. Ever since she slept with Nelson, the trajectory of their relationship took an unexpected turn. It was completely different from what she had imagined.

On the way home, Dylan did not stop talking. He reported everything about Nelson, from what he ate and drank to when he slept.

Initially, Sabrina thought she could finally have some peace once they arrived home.

However, Joanna was delighted to see Nelson return. While he was in the shower, she took Sabrina's hand and encouraged her to seize the moment.

It seemed like the nutritious dishes Joanna had prepared for Sabrina were not wasted after all. She also assured the latter not to feel embarrassed, as there was nothing to be ashamed of between spouses.

But Sabrina refused to listen and returned to the guest room. She didn't think Nelson would start treating her well simply because they had slept together that night.

As Sabrina nestled onto the couch to read, Nelson lifted the covers and got into bed.

Sabrina's breath hitched. In her clear state of mind, she had no desire to be intimate with him. This brief moment of harmony could not bridge the gap between them.

She remained still, and to her surprise, Nelson did not prompt her. He simply leaned against the headboard, scrolling through his phone.

Soon, it was 11:00 pm. Despite Sabrina's reluctance, she still had to catch some sleep.

She lay on the bed as Nelson switched off her bedside lamp. The room instantly plunged into complete darkness.

Shortly after, Nelson wrapped his hand around her waist. His lips gently kissed Sabrina's, causing her toes to curl involuntarily.
