Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 5

Sabrina was indeed in a pickle. She made arrangements and communicated with the clients. She appeared surprised when Nelson showed up.

He was attractive, and the dark suit accentuated his muscular build. His jawline was rather tense, and his gaze piercing when he stared at her. That effectively ruined her mood to swoon over him.

Ronaldo jogged over. Seemingly trying to score some points for his friend, he announced, "Sabrina, Nelson is here to help."

Was Nelson there to help?

If he truly intended to help, he would have followed her into the factory from the start. His delay only suggested that he had come to help after being scolded by Shannon.

She didn't want his reluctant help. "I can handle this on my own."

A deep frown appeared on his face after she rejected his offer to help. "This concerns the Tucker Group. You shouldn't throw a tantrum about it."

"Throw a tantrum? Why does he always think I'm up to no good and throwing tantrums?" she mused, seething.

To him, she was probably an unreasonable, cunning woman.

She couldn't be bothered to explain herself and proceeded to leave. Looking upset, Nelson grabbed her wrist and snapped, "What's with that attitude?"

Feeling the pain in her wrist, she tried to withdraw her hand, but he gripped her wrist harder as he glowered at her.

She snorted, "This is the attitude you've been giving me for three years. Why? Do you find it unbearable after experiencing it just once?"

He was caught by surprise.

Sabrina mustered all her energy to break free from his grip. Then, she massaged her reddened wrist and marched into the office, leaving Nelson scowling behind her.

He had never expected such a sharp retort from Sabrina, who loved to stick around him in the past. It was frustrating.

Ronaldo was similarly stunned. He scratched his nose. "Is this the Sabrina I know?"

Before this, she'd always cook Nelson's favorite dishes and waited for him at home when she learned that he was back in the country.

If he didn't come home, she'd look for Ronaldo and say, "Ronaldo, could you bring him the food?"

Sabrina was ingratiating, always looking forward to Nelson getting to know her better. Now, she acted like a different person.

"Nelson, what do we do?" Ronaldo asked.

"This is a child company of the Tucker Group. The problem involves an export order worth one billion dollars," Nelson remarked ambiguously.

He sounded like he wanted to help. To avoid any conflict between the couple, Ronaldo jumped in to mediate. "Sabrina, this is a golden opportunity to spend some quality time with him, so that he gets to know you better."

After replying to work-related texts, Sabrina said to Ronaldo, "Keep that opportunity for someone else."

Gaping, Ronaldo went closer and dialed up his efforts to persuade her, "It's such a pity to leave him when you haven't even slept with him. He's really hot, you know?"

Sabrina nodded in agreement. Abigail had praised Nelson for being hot, which Sabrina didn't deny. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

"Ronaldo, would you bite into an apple that was coated in someone else's saliva?" she mused.

Ronaldo fell silent. In other words, she was calling Nelson filthy. He wanted to convince her, but her assistant, Eva Brooks, entered the office at that moment. "Ms. Wyatt, we have borrowed all the resources we could get our hands on. They have gotten to work."

"Cool. I'll take a look." Sabrina left the office. Eva added, "They say that Pamela is here."

Sabrina halted in her tracks and turned around to smile at Ronaldo. "I will definitely take advantage of that golden opportunity if Nelson stays back."

Speechless, Ronaldo was upset at Pamela for causing trouble at this sensitive time.

"I have something important to attend to. Ronaldo will stay back and help," Nelson announced.

Forcing a smile, Sabrina replied, "Sure."

Ronaldo stopped Nelson and hinted at him. Trying to salvage the situation, he said, "Nelson, didn't you say this was the Tucker Group's child company, and the issue concerned a one billion export order? Nothing else is more important and critical than the matter at hand, right?"

Sabrina left before Nelson could reply, as she understood his rationale. She was never important to him; he'd never pick her over anyone, of course.

In fact, she was glad she brushed off Ronaldo's so-called "golden opportunity", or she'd hide in a hole from embarrassment.
