Chapter 47
Anderson and Isabel had already confirmed their engagement though.
"As you wish." Anderson lowered his hand and picked up the keys. "I told you, you're my responsibility. Where's the keychain I gave you?" Mayra immediately whisked the exquisite diamond keychain out of her bag.
Fastening the keys onto the keychain, Anderson said, "I have been engaged to the Fisher family since I was five years old. Even if it hadn't been arranged, it would've been inevitable. I raised you since you were five. You're different to me. You'll always be my exception."
Mayra's heart fluttered, her pulse quickening. It was impossible to not move a woman with such words.
In her previous life, these exact words made her feelings for him as a brother shift to something more intimate, like feelings a woman harbored toward a man. He never accepted her affection, but she challenged his moral constraints incessantly.
Though Anderson didn't grant her formal status, they explored every aspect of intimacy. She lured him into the thrill of sex, eventually causing him to be infatuated with her body. He reveled in their forbidden relationship.
Due to the significant divergence in their backgrounds, their relationship would still end in tragedy despite her strenuous efforts.
In the end, Anderson didn't force her to stay here. Still, she was welcome to the mansion anytime.
They descended the stairs and found out that Isabel was on her phone. She sat upright on the couch with perfect posture.
She hung up and went up to Anderson when she noticed them. She smiled. "Are you guys done? I just called Yvette to ask her to come over. I didn't invite a lot of people. I hope you don't mind."
Anderson despised strangers coming over to his place. Except for his clients and partners, he hardly had any friends around him. Thus, no one had visited the Barlow mansion these few years.
He glanced at his watch. "Tell her she doesn't have to come."
Isabel was momentarily stunned. Her gaze darted toward Mayra suggestively as she said, "But I just called her She did say she'll bring some friends over to liven up the atmosphere though. Besides, it's been ages since we've had people over."
"It's too noisy!" Anderson grumbled.
Before Mayra could speak, Isabel replied
without skipping a beat, "O"
it slipped my mind that you
the noise. I'll inform Yvette slike
"She'll be upset if she finds out that you didn't want her to come though. You know how much she adores you."
Anderson turned toward Mayra and said, "I have to go to a meeting now. I'll try to be back early tonight. If you need anything, tell Isabel."
Mayra nodded obediently. "Alright!"
He then left the mansion swiftly in his car.
Isabel took Mayra to the couch and turned on the television. "The maids are preparing dinner right now. Andy used to talk to me about you all the time, so I had them make your favorite dishes." ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

"I'll peel an orange for you."
"Thanks. But I'm alright, Isa."
Isabel smiled. "What did Andy tell you in the study?"
