Chapter 277 Man VS Boy

After getting home, I told Eric about my plans to take Zeke to the amusement park on Saturday.

"So, I won't be able to practice self-defense that day," I said, feeling a little regretful.

Eric raised an eyebrow. "That's what you're upset about?"

I nodded and turned to him. "What else? I've only had two days of training, and now, it's already getting interrupted."

He sighed helplessly and stared at me for a few seconds. Just when I thought he was about to walk away, he suddenly said, "I'm going too."

"Huh?" I looked at him in confusion. "You're going to the amusement park with us?"

No matter how I looked at it, Eric didn't strike me as the type who would enjoy such places. However, his expression remained unchanged as he nodded. "Yup. I'm going."

He then added mischievously, "What? Am I not welcome?"

I quickly waved my hands and wiped away my confused look. "Of course not! I'm just surprised you want to come along. I thought you didn't like these kinds of places."

Eric fell silent for a moment before saying, "Well, I wasn't interested in the past, but it also depends on who I go with."

Before I could even process his words, he had already turned around and walked upstairs.

...

Saturday arrived in the blink of an eye.

Eric and I arrived at Mr. Simpson's house to pick up Zeke.

The moment he saw Eric, Zeke pouted in dissatisfaction. "Jane, why is someone else ruining our time alone?"

I chuckled and glanced at Eric, then leaned down to whisper in Zeke's ear, "It's too dangerous for just the two of us to go out, so I found a knight to protect us."

Hearing my explanation, Zeke finally nodded in approval and stretched out his hands toward me. Before I could figure out what he wanted, Eric crouched down and picked him up instead.

Zeke frowned immediately, crossing his arms in defiance. "I want Jane to carry me! What are you doing, you big oaf?"

I couldn't hold back my laughter when I heard Zeke call Eric an "oaf".

Even Eric himself looked stunned.

Judith quickly gave Zeke a glare, then turned to me apologetically. "I have no idea where he learns these things."

She then looked at Zeke sternly. "Call him Eric. He's Jane's husband."

The second she said that, Zeke

seemed shaken to his core as if kis entire world was crumbling down around him. He immediately struggled to get down from Eric's arms.

However, Eric held him firmly, effortlessly preventing him from escaping. With Zeke in his arms, he casually strode out.

I quickly smiled to ease the tension and turned to Mr. Simpson and Judith. "The amusement park opens early, so we'll head out now. I'll send you some videos later."

With that, I quickly chased after them.

Just as I stepped outside, I saw Eric standing at the door, holding Zeke in one arm

while using his other hand to pinch his cheek.

"Did you hear that? I'm Jane's

husband. His tone carried an

unmistakable hint of smugness. "So,

I'm not the one ruining your alone

time with Jane. You're the one

ruining ours."

Hearing this, my heart skipped a beat. Pretending I hadn't heard a thing, I quickly walked over and said, "Alright, let's go."

The moment we got into the car, chaos erupted. Zeke insisted on sitting next to

me, but Eric refused to allow it. Of course, Eric won in the end.

Zeke ended up trapped in his arms, unable to move.noveldrama

I sighed in exasperation and looked at Eric. "Why are you acting like a child?"

From the way Eric and Levi

constantly bickered with each other,

I had long noticed that despite Eric's

usual cold and serious at

work, he actually had a playful side

in private. And seeing him with Zeke today just confirmed what already suspected.

Zeke, still pouting, looked up at Eric. "Yeah! Why are you acting like a child? I'm

the real kid here! You're supposed to let me win!"
