Since Victor was going to move them in two days, Allison took the chance to gather information from the guards every so often during that time.

“I saw your boss kill someone in the warehouse,” she said casually.

Allison acted like she was shaking but tried to appear calm.

“Aren’t you scared… of getting caught by the police?” she asked.

Amya joined in, saying on purpose, “That’s right. If we die here, you’ll all end up as fugitives with murder charges!”

The guard by the door scoffed, clearly unimpressed.

“Mr. White already has dozens of lives on his conscience. If we were scared, we wouldn’t be doing this job!” he said with a smug grin.

“And you know what? The police will never find this place,” the guard added with confidence. “We’ve been here for seven or eight years, just waiting to get on the Paradise cruise to meet that important person on the island.”

Allison squinted and replied, “I heard from Victor that he’s some kind of hideous freak. Is that true?”

“How dare you call him that?” the guard shot back, clearly offended.

He then stood taller, acting all high and mighty.

“He’s a well-known Mafia boss. If someone like you catches his eye, you’ll never have to worry about food or clothes again. You should feel honored!”

At that moment, Amya gently pulled at Allison’s sleeve.

They exchanged a knowing glance.

It was Daniel, after all.

Allison wasn’t surprised. She spoke quietly. “We don’t need that kind of honor.”

Just then, Victor came into view from a short distance away.

He noticed a group gathered by the cell door and shot them a cold, hard look.

“What are you little punks talking about?” he barked.

“Mr. White, you’re here. We weren’t saying anything,” they quickly replied, panic clear in their voices.

“Get outside and keep watch over the door!” he ordered.

“Yes, yes, yes,” the guard stammered, backing away.

Victor stepped inside, and Allison immediately shielded Amya behind her.
