Chapter 867
Chapter 867:
Eileen immediately forwarded the recording of the entire video call to Dalores, hoping it would provide her some comfort.
Relief washed over Dalores as she watched the recording.
Finally able to process everything calmly, Eileen felt a weight lift from her shoulders. Just then, her phone rang. It was Raymond, calling to say the paternity test results were in.
“The paternity test results show that the three blood samples Jessica brought are all human blood. However, there’s no blood relation between you and whoever this blood belongs to, Ms. Curtis.” Raymond paused for a moment before asking, “Does the blood really belong to Conroy?”
Eileen turned to Bryan with a questioning look, seeking confirmation.
Bryan’s eyebrows shot up as he asserted, “I verified it myself. I’m positive it’s Conroy’s blood. If you’re still unsure, feel free to verify it yourself.”
How could she verify it? Whenever she was around, Conroy would deliberately keep his distance, making it impossible for her to get near him.
After the call ended, Eileen felt a little dizzy. Lately, she had been experiencing mood swings and felt like she was riding a roller coaster.
“What’s wrong?” Bryan placed his hands on the table and gave her a once-over. “Don’t you enjoy playing with them? Why can’t you keep up the act now?”
Before, Eileen had enjoyed playing games with Conroy and the others.
With a dismissive eye roll, Eileen pressed her crimson lips together and replied, “I’m pretty sure I’ve never called Conroy ‘dad,’ have I?”noveldrama

She had never been able to think of him as her father.
Now, given her growing conviction that Conroy wasn’t her biological father, addressing him as “dad” had become more difficult. “It doesn’t matter.”
Seeing Eileen’s dispirited demeanor, Bryan added, “I have another plan.”
“What is it?” Eileen’s eyes sparkled with curiosity as she swiftly lifted her head to face him.
Bryan retrieved his phone and dialed Jessica’s number. In a detached and formal tone, he said, “Miss Marshall, I’ve received some of your family’s medical test results. It appears that you and your parents carry the genetic marker for cancer, increasing your risk of developing cancer by 50 percent compared to the general population. Unfortunately, this means you no longer meet the criteria to be my partner. I suggest you arrange a comprehensive medical checkup for your parents. It’s possible they may already have cancer.”
Jessica’s heart skipped a beat when she received the call from Bryan, but her excitement was short-lived as his words left her stunned.
Bryan had no idea whose blood samples she had given him, but she knew that those samples were from Conroy.
Did this mean that Conroy carried the recessive cancer gene?
Jessica sprang to her feet and quickly dialed Conroy’s number. The second he picked up, she accused, “Conroy, why didn’t you inform me sooner that your family has a history of carrying the recessive cancer gene?”
“What?” Conroy was baffled by the outburst. “My family has never had cancer before, and your grandparents’ deaths were due to an accident. How could I possibly have the cancer gene?”
