Chapter 1289
At home, there were blankets, sure, but nothing could match the warmth of Chad's coat. So, under Chad's firm insistence, his little boy ended up bundled up inside it, snuggled like a bug in a rug.
The little guy was so tiny that Chad's coat was practically a makeshift sleeping bag, fitting him perfectly. Nestled in the comforting scent of his dad's coat, with his head resting on a makeshift pillow crafted from his mom's scarf, and covered by his great-grandma's floral quilt, he drifted off to sleep under the sunny sky.
While the adults were bustling about, the child slept, creating moments of lively hustle and quiet happiness.
Leo had been feeling a special kind of happiness lately-one that was hard to put into words, much to Anya's frustration.
Sometimes, sweet and gentle Anya would burst out with a loud, "Chad!"
What Anya called an argument, Leo saw as her being adorable.
She was on the edge of her patience, and to top it off, she couldn't even vent to her aunts about it.
"You're not tossing my teddy bear out!" Anya clung tightly to her giant teddy bear, holding it like her life depended on it.
Leo, clad in his pajamas, was kneeling on Anya's bed, faced with the bear dilemma before he could claim the master bedroom for himself. He grabbed the bear by the neck and said, "Look, if this bear doesn't go, I have no place to sleep." Who ever heard of a girlfriend choosing a bear over her boyfriend?
Previously, it didn't matter so much since they hadn't defined their relationship. But now, after everything, even after buying protection, she still wouldn't let him sleep in her room.
Anya hugged the bear even tighter. "You already slept here last night. Tonight, it's not your turn."
Leo shot back, "Really? Now I have to take turns with a teddy bear?"
With Anya holding on for dear life, Leo climbed onto her back, pinning her down, and quickly swiped his new "rival" and tossed it out of the room. "Ms. Anya, let the bear crash in my room. It's roomy and bright, with a nice big bed. We can squeeze in and make do."
Anya couldn't outmaneuver her boyfriend. Leo, with a clever trick, lifted the hem of Anya's skirt, causing her to gasp and grab her skirt. Leo used the distraction to snatch the teddy bear and fling it out.
Returning to the bedroom, he was greeted by Anya's accusing glare.
"What are you giving me that look for? Your big eyes are the prettiest, you know." Anya was at a loss for words.
Leo sat on the edge of Anya's bed, lifting the blanket. "If I'd known you felt like this, I wouldn't have been sleeping alone all this time."noveldrama
Anya eyed her boyfriend, ready to head to the guest room. But Leo, stretching out comfortably, kept her in place on the bed. "I said I wouldn't sleep alone. If you leave, that's exactly what I'll be. Don't you want to be with me? Why the sudden shyness?"
Anya blushed, her frustration clear. "When did I ever say I wanted to sleep with you?"
"If you didn't want to be with me, why didn't you go back with your parents instead of sticking around here with me?"
Anya pouted, recalling how many times Leo had braved cold showers because of her.
She wasn't wildly liberal, but she wasn't old-fashioned either. After being with Chad for so long and living together for a bit, she knew he was worth it. Both families were familiar with each other, and her boyfriend was always responsible and respectful. That's why she felt bold enough to take that step.
But she hadn't realized that in this world, "sometimes" didn't exist. It was "every day" or nothing.
What do you think?
