What do you expect me to say?” Adrian looked at Farrah coolly, his tone sarcastic. “A pre–marital preement? Or a post–marital agreement?”

he pursed her lips to conceal her nervousness and forced herself to meet his gaze.

onestly, what goes on in your mind?” He dropped his daunting demeanor and said, “Don’t worry. I won’t k you for a divorce.”

? didn’t want Philip to get an aneurysm.”

imrah stared at him, still unable to completely believe he was the CEO of Prestige Group. Under the arm lighting, Adrian noticed that her features were delicate, and her skin was flawless. Her every ovement seemed to tug at his heartstrings. Sometimes, she looked just like his beloved Sierra.

ist then, Philip gave him a video call. He returned to his senses and answered it, smiling warmly, “Hi, “andpa.”

lave you brought Fay out for a nice meal, Adrian?” Philip hadn’t forgotten about that. “It was bad enough at you two could only have ravioll on your wedding night. You have to make it up to her with a nice eal, okay?”

drian didn’t answer. Instead, he flipped the camera, aiming his phone at the food. Then, he captured

arrah with his lens.

hilip was delighted. “Oh, this is wonderful! Fay! Hi, Fay!”

Hi, Grandpa!” Farrah took Adrian’s phone and smiled sweetly. “Adrian kept talking about wanting to bring e out for a nice meal–we finally had time today.”

“hat’s great!” Philip beamed. “Right, I’ll leave you two to it. Enjoy your meal and have a nice chat, okay?

was clear to see that Philip genuinely adored Farrah. It had been a while since Adrian had seen him so

appy.

ne call ended, and Farrah returned the phone to Adrian. He got up. “You can have the food. I’m leaving.”

e picked up his suit jacket, which he’d thrown over the back of his seat, and left without even waiting for

arrah to sit down.

he watched as the door shut behind him, suddenly feeling a little sad, not that she knew why. It was (pected that he would treat her coldly, right? He was a high and mighty CEO, after all. Nobody in this orld was obligated to treat anyone else well.

arrah gazed at the dishes thoughtfully, then summoned a waiter. She had him pack up all the food for er so she could take them away. After that, she took a cab to her rented apartment. She would have ime good food wit Jodie and Mason!

Whoa, your husband is so generous!” Mason was going through puberty and had never had such xurious dishes. “There’s even lobster!”

‘ou can have more if you like.” Farrah rubbed his head affectionately.

Are you happy, Fay?” Jodie looked worried. She felt like there was a reason Farrah had suddenly brought ie food over without letting them know beforehand.

arrah looked up. Jodie asked, “Has something happened?”

“Of course not.” Farrah smiled as she ate. “He’s away on a business trip and hasn’t had time to meet your

guys.

so he had someone prepare this. Then, he told me to bring the food over for you guys.”

Jodie stopped worrying when she saw that Farrah didn’t look too bad. After dinner, Farrah helped Jodie put the remainder of the food into the refrigerator. “Don’t worry about Mason’s tuition, okay? I’ll think of something.”

On the bus back to Floral Spring Residences, Farrah wanted to rest her eyes. Then, her phone rang. She checked it and saw the call was from Steven. She wanted to ignore it but answered it after some hesitation.

“Are you married, Farrah?” Steven snarled. “Where are the wedding gifts?”

“I can’t believe you have the nerve to call me,” she said indifferently. To think he’d tried to sell her off for 200 thousand dollars. Was he even human anymore?

“I might not be your biological father, but I still raised you–you can’t deny that! You have to repay me!” He started using the moral high ground against her. “If you don’t, you’ll be an ingrate!”

Farrah was so incensed by that that she hung up. He called her again in the next second, which annoyed her. Still, she knew that he’d be a huge nuisance in the future if she didn’t make things clear to him. So. she answered the call again. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

“Get me a million dollars within a week, or I’ll ask your husband for the money. One day, I’ll find out who he is!” Steven warned. “You don’t want him to know what your family is like, do you?” He hung up without waiting for an answer, thinking he had her where he wanted her.
