Grandpa asked a fortune teller to predict my marriage,” Adrian said, sounding a little resigned. “The ortune teller told him the first woman he met when leaving the house on the 15th of last month would be by destined partner.
e turned to look at Farrah, who was shocked. Was Philip that superstitious?
drian found the whole thing ridiculous but was still curious. He fixed his gaze on Farrah, not giving her le chance to lie to him as he asked, “So, what did you do on that day?”
he started recalling what had happened the day she and Philip had met. It had been a regular morning- arrah had left her apartment for her morning run.
uddenly, she’d heard someone shouting about a thief. She’d seen a man running in her direction with a ag in his hands, so she’d stretched out a leg to trip him without even thinking about what she was doing. ust then, a walking cane had appeared out of nowhere, stopping beside her outstretched foot. Together, rey’d made the thief trip and fall flat on his face. Just like that, she and Philip had met for the first time iter doing a good deed.
drian watched Farrah like a hawk in the backseat of the Lamborghini. He could tell from her expression
at she remembered something.
Srandpa’s getting older and more superstitious, so he believed the fortune teller.” He looked away and aned back, putting his hands behind his head as he shut his eyes.
arrah didn’t know what to say. This marriage was ridiculous, to say the least. After a while, she mustered. le courage to say, “Adrian, I want to ask for your help with something.”
e didn’t respond, nor did he open his eyes. She knew he was listening, though. She continued, “I want my doptive parents to get divorced; it’s also what Mom wants. Do you know any good lawyers who can help ith this?”
odie’s face appeared in Adrian’s mind, and he frowned slightly. He still felt like he’d seen her somewhere efore but couldn’t remember where.
drian?”
e returned to his senses, keeping his eyes shut as he said, “I’m not going to interfere in your family’s atters.”
arrah fell silent. She knew that even though they were married and Philip adored her, Adrian himself dn’t like her. She had no right to ask him for favors, and he had every right to reject her.
e was the CEO of Prestige Group–how could he have time to help her handle her personal matters? He as too busy for things like that. So, she didn’t say anything else.
fter a while, Adrian said, “My mother wants to meet you.”
is mother? He had a mother?
arrah was evidently taken aback. She turned to look at him. He continued, “Prepare eeting. We’re heading to Locke Manor for dinner tonight.

ur mother like anything?”
Chapter 25 She Won’t Love You
*Don’t bother trying to please her.” Adrian’s eyes were still shut. “She won’t like you.”
She paled at his words.
It was Saturday, so Kenneth drove Adrian and Farrah back to Floral Spring Residences. Upon arriving. Adrian headed straight to the study. Farrah went to the bedroom but couldn’t calm down, no matter what
she did.
She would be heading to Locke Manor with Adrian and meeting his mother for the first time. She didn’t want to treat the matter half–heartedly and leave Adrian’s mother with a bad impression, but she knew nothing about the woman.
Farrah tried to find something about her online, but there was nothing. It was odd. Still, she changed into her sunshine yellow dress–it was already the best one she owned.
Adrian happened to see her from the living room. His gaze landed on the bright splash of color, and her recalled how she’d reacted upon seeing him at the company on the day of his appointment. She’d worn. this very dress that day.
He frowned. ‘Don’t you have any other more formal clothes? You changed your outfit, but this is all you’ve
got?”
“Huh?” Farrah looked down at herself. “This is already the best I’ve got.”
She felt embarrassed as soon as the words were out of his mouth. His tastes had to be better than hers.
“Since I’ve already given you a card, I suggest you buy a few outfits you You represent me, too.”
She understood what he meant. “Okay. I’ll go buy something now.”

She returned to the room to retrieve the card he’d given her before leaving the apartment. Since finding out Adrian’s true identity, Farrah had been filled with fear and respect for him. She didn’t dare step a toe out of line when around him.
