Marriage 63
Chapter 63 Nighttime Chaos
In this awkward situation, Adrian could only keep silent, his back still aching from the blows.
Seeing that Philip had stopped chasing Adrian, Farrah quickly moved to help smooth things over. Smiling, she said, “Grandpa, he does wash his feet sometimes But when he doesn’t, that’s when we sleep apart. Most of the time, we still sleep together.”
“You’ve only been married a short while, and you’re already sleeping separately?” Philip couldn’t tolerate this. He believed they should be sleeping together every night!
Farrah immediately tried to calm him down, still grinning. “Honestly, it’s not because he made me mad. Please sit down, Grandpa. Don’t get yourself worked up. It’s not good for your health!”
Standing a few feet away, Adrian listened to her blatant lies. Despite her fabrications, she was at least trying to smooth things over for him. He could only sigh, wondering how his dignified reputation had crumbled so quickly.
Philip sat on the couch with his cane resting beside him. He was still glaring at Adrian with a disappointed look. “Adrian, I swear, you’re incorrigible!”
Before Adrian could respond, Philip pulled out his phone and made a quick call. “Get over here, a I’m on the 28th floor of Floral Spring Residences. I need help moving something.”
and fast!
Within minutes, a group of seven or eight strong men entered the house, all confused about the late–night, task. “Good evening, Mr. Locke Senior, Mr. Locke, they greeted respectfully.
“You lot, dismantle the bed in the guest room and take it away!” Philip ordered, his tone cold and authoritative.
“Yes, sir!” the men responded as they marched toward the guest room.
Farrah, overwhelmed by the sudden influx of workers, sat on the couch, barely daring to breathe. Adrian, though initially shocked, had accepted the inevitable though he sighed resignedly.
In less than ten minutes, the entire guest room was stripped bare. Every item that could be slept on–the bed, the couch, anything remotely comfortable–was dismantled and hauled
away.
But the most surprising part came when Philip had a surveillance camera installed in the living room.
*Grandpa… Adnan began, trying to stop him,
“Shut up!” Philip shot him a sharp glance. “Let me tell you something, this camera is linked directly to my phone. I’ll know if you two aren’t sleeping in the same room! And if there’s no baby in a month, I’ll install a camera in the master bedroom! Or maybe I’ll just move in with you both!”
Farrah, holding her breath, felt an urge to laugh but stifled it. She could only imagine how furious Adrian must be right now.
“Alright, Grandpa. It’s late. You should head home,” Adrian said, forcing a smile as he stepped forward to escort him out. “We’re both really tired and could use some rest.”
“Remember to wash your feet!” Grandpa added as he reluctantly let himself be ushered toward the door. “Yes, yes, we’ll wash up.” Adrian replied with a forced laugh, eager to get Philip out of the house.
After seeing Philip off and closing the door behind him, Farrah let out a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding. Her nerves were on edge, and she dared not raise her head.
Adrian, with his hands in his pockets, glanced at her coldly.
Chapter – Molittoie Claa
Farrah blinked a few times before summoning the courage to meet his gaze. Aware of the surveillance camera, he didn’t reprimand her. Instead, he turned and walked straight into the master bedroom.
Farrah stood awkwardly in the living room for a while before finally following him.
Meanwhile, down in the car, Philip was watching the live feed on his phone. He chuckled with satisfaction, “Trying to outsmart me, huh? You’re still too young for that!”
Inside the bedroom, Farrah noticed that Adrian’s mood had darkened, though it didn’t seem to be entirely due to Philip’s antics. She saw him sitting by the window in a single armchair, his gaze focused on the night outside.
After some hesitation, Farrah fetched the first aid kit and quietly set it down in front of him. “Grandpa hit you pretty hard earlier. Let me apply some cream on your back.”
Adrian looked at her in surprise, his thoughts interrupted. He watched as she knelt by the small coffee table, calmly opening the kit.
She took out the cream and waited for him to move, but he remained motionless.
When their eyes met, Farrah said softly, “You may not feel it now, but your back is going to hurt tomorrow. Take off your shirt, and I’ll apply some cream for you.
No one had ever shown Adrian such tender care, aside from his grandfather. This moment left him feeling a bit vulnerable yet wary at the same time.
