Sybil couldn't believe her eyes. Alina's car had plummeted from a high cliff and exploded years ago, and there had been no news of Alina since then. Yet here she was, reappearing at her wedding. After years apart, Sybil noticed that Alina seemed even more beautiful. Her face could easily be deemed the most beautiful in the world. Alina had been pretty before, but now, she was stunning. Instinctively, Sybil looked toward Kennard, but he was already moving.
"Kennard!" Sybil tried to grab Kennard beside her but only caught his clothing.
"Kennard, don't go!" Sybil attempted to follow, but her long bridal train caused her to trip and fall.
No matter how much she called after him, she couldn't stop Kennard. She could only watch helplessly as he ran toward Alina.
For years, she had dreamed of this moment, and now it was shattering before her eyes.
"Alina!" Kennard reached her, excitedly exclaiming, "Is it really you?"
He had believed Alina had left this world. Seeing her now made him incredibly happy.
"Long time no see, Kennard." Alina greeted him.
"Alina, I..." Kennard reached out to hug her but was stopped.
"Congratulations on your wedding." Alina offered him a gift, but Kennard didn't accept it.
Kennard's gaze fixed on Alina's face, his eyes filled with profound affection.
"I didn't want this. I don't love Sybil." Kennard's words stunned everyone present. They all collectively gasped. No one expected Kennard to say something so awkward for the Woolery family. Clearly, Kennard didn't care if the Woolerys became the butt of jokes. People began to suspect that the wedding might end in failure.
"What really happened back then? Where have you been all these years? I've been looking for you." Kennard's words were filled with admiration. It was clear to everyone that he liked Alina.
Meanwhile, Sybil had gotten up from the ground and was sprinting toward Alina, her lips almost bleeding from biting them out of anger.
"Alina, you bitch!", Sybil was furious. She believed Alina had deliberately chosen to return at this time to ruin her wedding.
She swung her hand viciously toward Alina while yelling, "What are you, human or ghost? Whatever you are, get out of here!"
But before her hand could land, Kennard grabbed it firmly. With a stern voice, he said, "Sybil, stop it."
Sybil looked extremely disheveled at this point, her appearance completely ruined. Her once pristine white wedding gown was now dirtied from her fall, and the media reporters nearby were ecstatic to witness this high-profile drama of love and conflict, snapping photos relentlessly.
"Kennard, don't mind her, let's continue with the wedding, alright? Let's not delay the proceedings," Sybil pleaded, looking earnestly at Kennard.
Kennard glanced at Alina, then turned to Sybil, and with seriousness in his voice, he said, "Sybil, I can't marry you."
He never liked Sybil. The one he always liked was Alina, back then and even now. He was certain it would be the same in the

future too. This whole wedding with Sybil was never what he wanted."

The shockwaves from Kennard's words resonated through the gathering. People started speculating if he was going to call off the wedding.
"Why? I disagree! You must marry me. I love you so much. What does she have that I don't? Kennard, you can't reject me. I'm carrying your baby." Sybil revealed her trump card.
Kennard looked at her coldly and replied, "You are carrying my child because you set me up, otherwise, it would have been impossible."
Sybil's face turned pale, her meticulously prepared makeup was smudged, and her elegant image was crumbling.
She turned to Alina and, like a madwoman, lunged at her, screaming, "It's all your fault, you filthy bitch! I'll tear your face apart! I'll kill you!"
Grabbing a nearby glass vase, she aimed it directly at Alina's faceThis content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Suddenly, an arm intercepted, blocking the vase from hitting Alina's face. Instead, it struck the arm of the person protecting her.
Alina's head was sheltered by the man's arms. Through the fabric, she could even hear the man's strong heartbeat. Her ears were covered, and amidst the shattering sound of the vase, she only heard a muffled grunt from behind.

Alina incredulously raised her head, catching a sight of Johnny's pale face. His Adam's apple protruded, his jawline impeccable. His features were sharp, so close, his deep eyes brimming with anger.
