The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2105

Seeing Ethan's abdomen so severely injured, Lydia couldn't hold onto her anger any longer. She'd always been a soft-hearted person, especially towards those who were suffering. The flare of anger that had sparked within her extinguished immediately upon seeing the extent of Ethan's injuries. "You lie still, I'll go grab some ice packs for you," she said. These were fresh wounds; they weren't there when she had administered acupuncture treatment to him yesterday.

"Okay, thank you, Dr. Lydia," Ethan grinned, obediently lying back down on the hospital bed. As long as Lydia wasn't mad at him, he felt joy despite the pain.

Lydia returned with the ice packs wrapped in a towel, gently placing them on Ethan's wounded area. The cold from the ice packs made Ethan's body jolt, his face contorting in discomfort.

"It's going to feel quite cold at first, but you'll get used to it in a bit," Lydia soothed him.

Gradually, Ethan's furrowed brow relaxed. He took a deep breath to acclimate to the stinging cold sensation. Looking up at Lydia with a smile, he said, "I really can't thank you enough for today. If it weren't for you, those guys would have turned me into a punching bag."

"You've already thanked me plenty. Do you want me to say 'you're welcome' or something?" Lydia's face still showed a hint of irritation.

"Of course not. I mean, to show my gratitude, how about I treat you to dinner later?" Ethan proposed.

"No, thanks," Lydia flatly refused.

"How can I not offer something in return? You saved me, and now, without any gesture of gratitude, people might think I'm ungrateful," Ethan persisted.

As Lydia continued to apply the ice gently to the swollen areas, she said, "Don't feel obligated. Even if it wasn't you, if it were someone else in trouble, I would have helped just the same."

"I know Dr. Lydia is kind-hearted. But the fact remains you saved me, and not only that, you brought me here for treatment. All these favors combined, I'd be indebted to you for life, yet all I'm asking is to take you out for a meal. Is that too much to ask?" Ethan said, looking hurt.

He's at it again! Lydia rolled her eyes at him, "I don't want to have dinner!"

"Fine, how about I dedicate myself to you then?" Ethan joked.

Seeing him in pain, Lydia's heart softened, and she immediately eased the pressure.

"Keep talking, and you really won't survive!" Lydia threatened jokingly.

"So, are you going to have dinner with me or not?" Ethan persisted. Lydia gave him a look, "No!"

Ethan: "..."

He had never met a woman who was so impervious to persuasion.

Twenty minutes later, Lydia finished up with the ice treatment, visibly reducing the swelling. She removed the ice pack, saying, "You can get up now; it's time for you to go."

Ethan remained silent.

As Lydia locked the door and left the infirmary, Ethan followed her like a shadow.

Finally, Lydia turned around, exasperated, "What on earth do you want?"
