"Him? Dating someone?" Henry shook his head. "You know Charlie's temperament well. Even J couldn't catch his eye; he's probably still thinking about that person." Henry sighed and shook his head.

Nancy had a different perspective from Henry. "Henry, you know Charlie's temperament. What does he despise the most? Those two women both did exactly that, so Charlie won't have anything to do with them."

Since Charles had grown up by Nancy's side, she understood his personality well. "I trust Charlie on this. If he's asking me to go over, it's probably because he doesn't want to come here, and that he certainly doesn't want the family to know. I'll go over and have a look."

"That boy always preferred you, ever since he was little. Even though I'm his uncle, we ended up being distant." Henry spoke with a hint of jealousy, though it was not clear whether it was directed at Charles or Nancy.

Nancy chuckled. "If Charlie knew his Uncle Henry felt this way, he'd be hurt."

"That boy? Hurt?" Henry muttered a few more words, then sighed. "Since you're going, let me pack a couple of clothes." Henry thought that Nancy had probably been cooped up in the Hoffman residence for too long.

Perhaps spending a few days at Charles' Phoenix Tree Residence, which had a pleasant environment, would do her good.

"No need. I'm just going for a visit, not to stay."

"It's fine. If you're feeling stifled here, I'll go with you for a bit of a break!" Henry said as he started packing clothes. Nancy leaned against the bed, and sighed softly, "Thank you, Henry."

The two had known each other since they were young, but there had not been much affection between them at first. It was only after going through so much together that their feelings had developed.

However, Nancy's health deteriorated significantly after giving birth to Tania. Concerned, Henry had stopped involving himself in the company's affairs, focusing solely on Nancy, leaving all business matters to his elder brother, Mateo.

Over the years, both Henry and Nancy felt a sense of guilt toward Mateo and Charles. However, Mateo had always looked after them, and Charles had grown into a smart and considerate young man. Content

Henry packed their bags and left with Nancy. As they reached the living room, Clarisse was coming down the stairs.

Seeing the two of them, a sharp look flashed in her eyes. "Where are you taking your wife, Henry?"

Henry and Nancy paused. "We've been cooped up at home; just going out for some air. What? Even these sorts of things are under your control now?" Henry's tone was biting.

Clarisse was irked by Henry's

attitude, her face showing

displeasure. "What do you mean by

that, Henty? I'm only concerned for you. Nancy's health isn't great; going out in this weather could worsen her condition. It would be troublesome if she fell ill."

"We don't need you to worry about that, Clarisse. Nancy and I know our limits. It's getting late; we'll be off now." Henry helped Nancy as they left the Hoffman residence.

Meanwhile, as she watched their departure, Clarisse gripped the door frame with a twisted expression.

Alright then!

Upstairs, Maxwell observed from above with his keen eyes and sighed, shaking his head.

The butler, standing beside him, could not help but sigh as well. "Sir Hoffman, what will become of this? Mr. Henry, he..."

"Enough, enough. Let the children

sort it out themselves. It's good for Henry and Nancy to leave for a while." Maxwell, having lived most of his life, had seen and understood it

all. He chose to simply play the fool.

Sometimes, turning a blind eye was the best way to maintain peace.
