Chapter 633
After the opening dance, Charles gracefully withdrew his hand, his smile polite but distant.
Noelle also pulled back, nodding slightly before stepping away. As soon as Arya saw Noelle leave Charles' side, she eagerly waved her over. "Noelle, over here!" Arya called out.
Noelle nodded, smiled, and made her way through the crowd to Arya's side. Arya quickly grabbed Noelle's hand, brimming with excitement. "Oh my god, Noelle! I can't believe how lucky you are-it's unbelievable! So, how did it feel? Dancing with Mr. Hoffman, what was it like?"
Noelle felt a bit overwhelmed by Arya's enthusiasm. Arya was clinging to her arm. Noelle gently pulled away as she felt slightly awkward. "It was..... just like any other dance. Mr. Hoffman dances really well, and... that's about it."
"That's it?" Arya exclaimed, her voice so loud that it attracted quite a few glances.
Noelle hurriedly covered Arya's mouth. "Shh! Keep it down. Don't you realize I've probably become public enemy number one right now?" Noelle said with a wry smile. "What else could there be?"
"Aren't you even a little bit thrilled? Didn't your heart race or anything?" Arya found it hard to believe. That man was Charles Hoofman, the head of the Hoffman family and the one who called the shots at Collosus Group—someone everyone envied.
"Come on, you can't tell me you didn't feel anything at all."
"The biggest feeling I have right now is that if looks could kill, I'd be full of holes," Noelle replied, glancing around the room. Not everyone was as carefree as Arya.
Charles was someone many dreamed of dancing with, but it was Noelle who got that chance. How could she not become the center of attention? "Tsk, tsk, if you ask me, dancing with Mr. Hoffman is your greatest stroke of luck. A few glares from these small fries? No big deal."
Arya thought Noelle was making too
much of a fuss. What could anyone do to her? "But speaking of which,, J looked like she wanted to eat you alive. She always acts so high and mighty, like she's about to devour someone. She's the same way with Winter... Content belongsContent property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"Wait a minute, her name's Winter Shaw, and you're Noelle Shaw. You both have the same last name! It's not exactly common. Are you guys related?"
Noelle sighed, feeling a bit helpless. "You finally noticed?"
She had thought Arya might not pick up on it, though she and Winter did share a rare last name.
"Yeah, so you... Winter is a big star. I just Googled her. She's the eldest daughter of the Shaw family. Which means you're..."
"That's right. It's exactly what you're thinking. She's my sister."
"No way!" Arya exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth in shock. "I can't believe it. So, you two are really sisters?" Arya leaned closer to Noelle, whispering, "But you two..."
"Let's not get into that today." Noelle
patted Arya on the shoulder. Even
though Arya looked like she had more to say, seeing Noelle's reluctance to continue, she
swallowed her words.
The evening's events were now in full swing. Becky had arranged a variety of performances, and they were showcased one by one.
Alongside the performances were
also raffle draws. Although in the beginning, everyone was envious and even jealous of Noelle getting to do the opening dance with Charles,
the promise of actual ta
rewards to come soon had
everyone's spirits soar again.
