Chapter 2463
Chapter 2463
The glamorous bar was bustling with noise. The deafening music, the haze of cigarette smoke, and the stench of alcohol flooded one's senses.
The place seemed to be steeped in indulgence and depravity.
"Where's Arnold?"
The moment Asher stepped through the door, every ravenous gaze was on him, seemingly bewitched by the sight of him.
"Handsome, are you here alone? Need some company?" A sultry man slid up to Asher,
resting a hand lightly on his shoulder, daring to give it a squeeze. "If you're bored, I can keep you entertained!"
Asher's striking features remained cold and forbidding. The bulging veins twisted beneath the skin of his hand.
Yuri pushed through the crowd and spotted Asher, who stood tall and imposing, surrounded by thirsty, promiscuous men.
Terrified, he shouted, "Don't touch him!"
The next second, a loud thud rang through the air.
Like a gunshot fired, the entire crowd recoiled, shrieking as they scrambled to the edges of the room.
Yuri focused his gaze.
The man called "The Matrix" stood firm, immovable as a mountain. Meanwhile, that flirtatious man lay sprawled at his feet, clutching his backside, writhing in pain.
Yuri sighed. The Matrix never cared about being gentlemanly to people he didn't care about.
"Where is Arnold?" Asher stepped over the fallen man, heading straight for Yuri.
"At the bar. I'll go with you!"
"No need," Asher said hoarsely. His gaze swept past Yuri, then he strode into the crowd, his commanding figure still dazzling even as he disappeared.
Yuri's thoughts churned. He let out a quiet sigh.
Asher was right. Arnold was nothing like Kairos.
Kairos was gentle, quiet, and even virtuous. Aside from work, he never set foot in places like this and never tangled with dubious men.
Asher had once said that being with Kairos made him feel at peace, at ease. Yuri always assumed that meant Asher preferred someone like that—a tender, understanding partner, the kind of person who smoothed over all rough edges.
But now, it seemed that was not the case.
Aside from that breathtakingly beautiful face, Arnold was a wild stallion through and through, completely stubborn to the bone. He was the complete opposite of Kairos in every way, constantly testing Asher's limits.
Before, Yuri thought Asher tolerated Arnold only because of that face. Now he knew better.
Asher was hopelessly in love with Arnold, not just the exterior. He loved Arnold-flaws and all. He especially loved Arnold's untamed spirit.
This love had already surpassed what he once felt for Kairos.
Arnold lounged at the bar, dressed in a lavender silk shirt, the buttons undone to reveal his sharp collarbones and smooth, fair skin. His drunken gaze wavered as a man poured him another drink.
The man's eyes burned with greed. "I spotted you the moment I walked in. You are exactly my type!"
Such a cheap, uninspired line, yet it sent Arnold into peals of laughter. He turned his face slightly, revealing the scar on his cheek, his voice laced with mockery.
"What about now? Am I still your type?"
The man froze, eyes locked on the cross-shaped scar. Then, unable to resist, he reached out to touch it.
"Beautiful... You are my Venus."
Unfortunately, the man never got the chance. In a flash, Arnold sprang onto a stool, then leaped onto the high stage where shirtless dancers writhed against poles.
Under the hypnotic lights, Arnold was pure seduction, a creature of untamed allure. He seized every ravenous gaze in the room.
The man who had been flirting with him all but drooled, scrambling toward the stage. But before he could climb up, pain shot through his wrist, followed by a crisp snap.noveldrama
He screamed. Then, as though weightless, he was lifted into the air before crashing hard onto the floor.
Gasps of shock rippled through the crowd.
A dark shadow loomed over his pale, fear-stricken face. Asher lifted his leg, planting a foot onto the man's stomach with crushing force-enough to nearly squeeze out his last meal.
"If he is Venus, then guess who I am?" Asher said coolly.
The man trembled violently.
"I am Mars." Asher's bloodshot gaze locked onto Arnold, who swayed drunkenly under the flashing lights.
He stepped forward, swift and precise, vaulting onto the stage in a single bound.
Music and alcohol fueled Arnold's indulgence. His thoughts drifted, unaware that the man before him was watching with tear-soaked eyes.
What do you think?
