The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus)

Chapter 650 One Side Holds Joy and Celebration the Other Is a Pit of Misery (Part 4)

William and Charlotte composed themselves and resumed greeting the guests. They wanted to give everything they could to their children.

They didn't worry much about their sons. Their daughter didn't really need their help, either. Even so, as parents, they still hoped to give her just a little more.

In the heart of Dithoria, a long line of Rolls-Royce Phantoms cruised down the avenue. The bridal convoy gleamed under the sun, commanding attention wherever it passed.

Drones filmed the entire procession from above, and every giant billboard in the city was broadcasting Marcus and Natalie's wedding in real time.noveldrama

By the time the convoy arrived at Holden Residence, Wesley and Laura were already waiting at the entrance.

The Holden family had also simplified many of the usual rituals. After all, there was still an afternoon wedding banquet to attend at the hotel.

As the cars came to a stop, Marcus was the first to step out. From one of the lead vehicles, Gorge got out and whispered something to him in a low voice.

Marcus nodded slightly, then carefully lifted Natalie into his arms and stepped out with her.

Laura's eyes instantly welled up when she saw her son, dressed so handsomely in his wedding suit, carrying his breathtaking bride.

She clutched Wesley's wrist. "Wesley, our son is getting married."

"Yes, Marcus has grown up. He's married now. It's just a pity that Father can't see this," Wesley said, emotion thick in his voice.

At the mention of Charles, Laura felt silent. Charles had treated her with great kindness. Ever since she married Wesley, he had cherished her like his own daughter.

If not for Cassie, they could have been a truly happy family.

Wesley gently wiped his eyes. "Laura, don't think too much. If Father could see this from the afterlife, he would be happy."

"Yes." She nodded. Charles had been laid to rest under the largest maple tree in Holden Residence. He would know about the wedding. And he would surely be smiling.

As they watched Marcus carry Natalie toward them, Laura was suddenly reminded of her own wedding, so many years ago.

Soon, Marcus arrived in front of them, still carrying Natalie. "Father. Mother," he greeted them respectfully.

He then glanced at the woman in his arms and smiled. "Mother, I've married the woman I love."

"That's wonderful." Laura's eyes misted over again, but her smile was gentle and full of affection as she looked at Natalie. "Nat, I'll be a good mother-in-law. I promise. Don't be afraid. I'll treat you very well."

Natalie smiled. "Mom, I'm not afraid. I'll be good to you too."

Laura laughed softly. "Come on inside. There are a lot of people here today, but your father-in-law has arranged everything. I don't need to worry about a thing," she said.

She wiped her eyes. "And Sheldon... After waiting all this time, he just couldn't wait one more day."

"Laura, don't blame him. He's getting older. He told me he wasn't feeling well, and when the doctor checked him, they found he had caught something contagious. I told him to rest.

"He didn't want to risk passing anything to others, so he left a message and went to his little cottage in the countryside to recover. There's a yard there. He said he wants to grow vegetables and raise chickens. After the wedding is over, we can go visit him together."

"Alright." Laura nodded.

She couldn't help but worry about Sheldon. If it hadn't been for his constant encouragement and support, she would never have had the courage to return to Holden Residence, much less rekindle her relationship with Wesley. Together, the couple walked inside and took their seats.

They watched as Marcus and Natalie made their way to the memorial table set in the corner of Holden Residence's living room.

A photograph of Charles stood surrounded by white lilies and the soft glow of two tall candles.

Marcus and Natalie walked hand in hand to the table. Marcus' eyes were red. When he finally spoke, his voice was long and trembling.

"Grandpa, I'm married. Today, I finally brought Natalie home, and I'm proud to call her my wife. I know you always liked her. You liked her so much."

Natalie stepped forward beside him, her own eyes shining with unshed tears. Charles had been so kind to her. He had truly treated her like a granddaughter.

"Grandpa, I married Marcus today. I became your granddaughter-in-law. If you're watching... I hope we made you proud. Forget the pain of the past. your next life, may you live freely. Don't let anyone ever hurt you again."

"And don't give up your life for anyone."

That last thought, Natalie kept in her heart.

Together, they stood in silent tribute, hands clasped, heads bowed.

Across the room, Charles' portrait caught the flickering candlelight. And if one

looked closely, it almost seemed like he was smiling.

A quiet, contented smile. Right from the heart.

"Mr. Marcus, Mrs. Holden, it's time."

Gorge stepped forward to guide them. The ceremony had been planned by both

families, with most of the unnecessary formalities stripped away.

There were no grand gestures. No rigid traditions. Only the two of them, side by side. They exchan a glance, nodded, and moved on to begin the next chapter of their lives.

The marriage ceremony was complete.

"Mr. Marcus, Ms. Natalie, head to the bridal suite and get some rest. You'll be heading to the hotel soon," Gorge said.

His eyes reddened as he looked at Natalie. "Ms. Natalie, I hope you'll be happy."

Natalie hugged him gently. Ever since she returned to the Walker family, Gorge had looked after her in every little detail, making sure she was comfortable and cared for.

"I will be happy. Don't worry about me, she said with a quiet smile. She remembered everyone who had treated her kindly.

"Ms. Natalie, from today on, you are Mrs. Holden. But no matter what, you will always be the Walker family's heiress," he said, his voice thick with emotion.

"Your family will always be your strength and your shield. Don't ever let anyone or anything force you to compromise who you are."

Natalie nodded with a smile. "Yes, Gorge, I know. When I come back to visit, I still want to taste your pastries."

"That won't be a problem at all. I've been testing out some new recipes. When you return for your first family visit, I'll have a fresh batch waiting for you."

"Thank you, Gorge."

Natalie smiled and turned to leave with Marcus.

The wedding between Marcus Holden and Natalie Walker was a grand occasion, and the number of guests on both sides of the family was overwhelming. Many couples had split up, each heading to one household before reuniting at the hotel later for the official banquet.

Wesley had arranged everything in advance to ensure that the home ceremonies

were smooth and relaxing.

At the gates of Holden Residence, several elegant display stands had been set

up, showcasing the wedding gifts prepared for Natalie.

They came from her parents, William and Charlotte, and from each of her brothers.

Even Sky had sent a gift of his own.

Each board was filled with assets most people couldn't dream of earning in a

lifetime. These gifts were symbols of the Walker family's love and blessings for their daughter.

Not to be outdone, the Holden family had also gifted the newlyweds with

significant wealth.

The reporters, media outlets, and influencers covering the wedding quickly spread

the news. Everyone who saw the footage was green with envy.
