The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Chapter 42 Give them to me?

“Are these all the files for the project?” Aiden raised a brow at his secretary and she nodded.

He rechecked the files again but didn’t read the content then he put them at the side of his desk.

“You can leave.” He said and the secretary left.

He took a sip of his black coffee as he rested on his chair.

“Tell Tihana to meet me here immediately.” He said to Wayne after a while.

“Why didn’t you call her through the landline?” Wayne asked staring at him.

“I tried but she didn’t answer it.”

“Probably she wasn’t in her office then, so try again.”

Aiden stared intently at him and slowly, he took up the telephone in a sigh.

“Come to my office right now.” Aiden stated not giving a chance for the receiver to say a word before dropping the telephone.

“She answered?” Wayne asked with a raised brow.

“Obviously.”

“Told ya!” Wayne said and continued scrolling on his phone.

The door opened seconds later and Mrs Linda came in.

“Good morning sir.” She greeted in a little bow.

“You called for me.” She said again.

“I did?” Aiden asked with a creased eyebrow.

“Yes sir, I was the one you spoke to through Mrs Tihana’s landline.”

“And why would you answer for her? Shouldn’t you have known she was the one I needed.”

“She is absent sir.”Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“She didn’t come to the office?” Aiden scoffed out like he didn’t hear what Mrs Linda said.

“Yes sir.” She replied in a nod.

Aiden closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

“You can go back to your office now.” Mrs Linda bowed before leaving.

“This is getting more serious than I expected.” Wayne voiced out from where he sat.

“First, she left the house and till now, she didn’t come back, now she is beginning to joke with her job.”

“You and I know that isn’t true. You offended her and that is why this is happening.”

“Why don’t you just go and beg for her forgiveness? Maybe all these would end then we pretend it never happened.” He said again, coming to sit opposite Aiden.

“Don’t make a fuss about this, Wayne. Not like I purposely did it, you know me better, I can never force myself on a woman instead they force themselves on me.” Aiden explained in a pissed tone.

“I know all this Aiden but still you have to make her understand, she doesn’t know all this.” Wayne still insisted.

Like Dian had said, Aiden needed to be told the truth.

“There’s nothing to make her understand, besides she is my wife and I have every right on her. This was part of the contract, remember?”

“You still don’t get it, don’t you?” Wayne asked getting stressed out.

“I get. She didn’t come to work today doesn’t mean she won’t ever be coming, so put your mind at rest.” Aiden sipped his coffee.

“You have to…….”

“This conversation is over. I have quite a lot of work to do.” Aiden interrupted in a grin.

Aiden’s mobile phone started ringing on the table. He scoffed after seeing the caller and picked it up.

“Hello, grandfather!”

“She did something abominable to mankind.” Aiden replied to grandfather’s question on the phone.

“Why then are you asking from me if her father already narrated everything to you?”

“There is nothing else to hear from me, you’ve heard from the horse’s father.”

“I will do no such thing grandfather.”

“And I don’t care if he is a very good friend of the family, he should have taught his daughter better.”

“I could have died grandfather, the substance she gave me literally made my body numb.”

“Grandfather, I’m really sorry but I can’t do what you want me to do, bye.” Aiden disconnected the call.

“What did he say?” Wayne asked when he dropped the phone.

“Can you believe him? He wants me to release Blossom.”

“And would you?”

“You heard what I told him correctly, I won’t release her until I feel it’s enough. She is crazy and needs to be taught a lesson, that is the only she can give up on me.”

An sms popped into Tihana’s phone and she sighed before replying it again. This has been what she and Diana has been doing for some seconds now.

She didn’t go to work today not because she was still mad at Aiden because Diana had explained everything to her and she now understands why Aiden did it. She still wants him to come to her himself and explain.

Until then, she won’t go to work and if the case arises, she would terminate the contract and give him back all the money he has paid her for the contract then quit her job.

“Are you bored?” Diana sent and she smiled.

“I am but you don’t have to worry, I already have a plan to ease it.” Tihana texted back.

“Are you sure?” Diana texted again.

“Yes.” Tihana replied.

“Alright, see you in the evening.” Diana texted with a love emoji. Tihana chuckled and dropped her phone beside her on the bed.

“It wouldn’t hurt to sleep a little before going to the market.” She muttered to herself and laid properly on the bed, drifting to sleep.

HOURS LATER*

“How much are the veggies?” Tihana asked as she pointed to the carrots, cabbage and pepper.

“It’s just $5 ma’am.”

“Alright, give them to me.”

The vendor packed it up and gave it to her. She paid and walked away.

That was the last thing on her list of things to buy in the market.

The weather was beginning to change like it would rain and she sighed.

“I better walk fast before this rain hooks me up here.” She muttered as she increased her footsteps.

She didn’t bother to look left and right before crossing.

Just when she was close to the other side of the road, a speeding car screeched loudly beside her and she fell to the floor with her goods scattering on the road.
