The Reclaimed Rose (Annalise and Steven)

Chapter 818

Darryl told his connections not to hire Sherry, hoping she'd return to him if she failed to find a job. But things turned out very differently from his expectations.

Darryl asked, "I'm not asking for too much, am I? All you have to do is apologize, and I will remarry you..."

Sherry snapped, not wanting to listen to his blabber, "But I don't want to apologize! I didn't do anything wrong. I sent you the audio recording and security footage, too. You must've seen it, haven't you?"

Darryl said hesitantly, "Yes."

"Since you've seen it, you should know that I wasn't the one to blame. It was your friend who was at fault, yet you still want me to apologize. What does that tell you?"

Sherry was surprised at how cold she could be toward Darryl. She continued, "You don't care about the truth and justice; you care more about your friend's feelings. As for me, you don't care about how I feel."

Suddenly, Sherry felt like the love she had chased after was nothing but a joke.

She said, "Over the past few days, I came to a conclusion. I don't need my husband to love me, and I don't need other people to love me. But if even I don't love myself, then what meaning is there in my life?"

Darryl retorted, "But I truly love you."

"If your way of expressing love is by bullying me and siding with your friend, then I don't want your love," Sherry said.

Now that she had completely moved on, Sherry wasn't affected by what Darryl said all that was left was amusement.

She continued, "You should enjoy your life with your friend, and I'll focus on building my career. In the end, we both got what we wanted, didn't we?"noveldrama

Then she hung up. After staring at his phone number for a long time, Sherry blocked it. Having decided to move on, she didn't want to give herself any room to regret her decisions.

After settling everything, Sherry spoke to her boss about her tasks and then focused on work. She wanted to keep herself occupied so that she wouldn't have time to think, hoping that it would help her move on faster. After all, it was just one relationship.

Sherry had faith that if she tried hard enough, she would be able to move on quickly.

When it was time to get off work, Zane approached me and said, "Let's go pick up Willow."

"Okay," I said, stopping what I was doing.

Since I got busy with work, I realized I enjoyed occupying my time with work. It felt

as if the busier I became and the more I had to think, the calmer I became.

I was walking behind Zane when he slowed down; I gazed at him in confusion.

Zane gently held my hand and said,

"We're married, but we act like

strangers in public. We don't display any signs of intimacy

but I always wished people would know about

our relationship."

Upon hearing that, I held his hand

and said, chuckling, "I've been

coming to your office every day, and I'm sure they've all noticed The smarter ones would know something is going on between us."

Zane paused. Then, he said, "That's different."

I laughed and nodded, saying, "Yeah, it's different."
