The Road to Rebirth Her Fresh Start and His Late Sorrow

Chapter 61

-

Nancy watched Judson's reaction, sensing something amiss. "Judson, are you starting to remember..." She couldn't finish her sentence.

Judson clasped his head in his hands, his face turning even paler, his body curling up in pain. "It hurts so much!"

Memories of the past few days flooded his mind.

"I'm not your wife. You've got the wrong person."

"This is my house. My name is Nancy. What's yours?"

"Judson, I'll take you to the police station tomorrow so you can find your family."

"Judson, are you okay?"

All Nancy could see was the panic and worry in her face from Judson's memories. Suddenly, she

transformed into a seven or eight-year-old girl, her pretty face only showing innocence.

"Don't cry. I'll give you some candy. My name's Nancy. What's yours?"

Seeing Judson trembling all over, Nancy quickly held his hand. "Judson, I'll call a doctor. Just wait for

me...

Before she could finish, Judson grabbed her hand tightly.

Internally, Nancy sighed again. So, Judson still hadn't regained his memory. Even Dr. Collins believed his concussion had worsened. The uncertainty weighed heavily on her, amplifying her concern for him.

He wasn't in his right mind the day he took her hostage, blinded by rage. Otherwise, he would have recognized her then.

Judson tried to contain his emotions, but with eyes brimming with tears, he pleaded, "Babe, I don't need a doctor. My head hurts. My whole body hurts. Can you hold me, please?"

His voice was low and shaky, barely hiding his sobs.

Nancy's heart ached, especially seeing Judson looking so pitiful, his body covered in wounds.

After a few seconds of hesitation, she finally lifted her arms to embrace him.

Almost immediately, Judson wrapped his arms tightly around her slender waist. Moreover, he buried his head in her chest, breathing in her scent deeply.

Nancy felt Judson's warm temperature, especially as he clung to her. Feeling uncomfortable, she struggled slightly but still refrained from pushing Judson away.

"Judson, what's wrong with your head? Did you remember something?"

Hearing the probing in Nancy's voice, Judson suddenly raised his head, his eyes moist. "Babe, don't you

want me anymore? My injuries aren't that bad. Please don't dump me!"

Seeing Judson about to cry, Nancy became anxious. "That's not what I meant."

"Babe, I dreamed you didn't want me anymore, insisting I find my family. But you are my family. You're my wife.'

"Nancy, I'll be good. Please, can you keep me?"

Judson nuzzled his face into Nancy's chest like a kitten seeking its owner's affection.

Internally, Nancy sighed again. So, Judson still hadn't regained his memory. Even Dr. Collins believed his concussion had worsened. The uncertainty weighed heavily on her, amplifying her concern for him. "Babe..." Judson whimpered again.

"I'm not your wife. I'm single. You've altered your memory due to your amnesia," Nancy said, gently pushing Judson by his shoulders.

Judson looked more heartbroken. "I don't believe it. You must be lying to me."

Nancy's expression was calm. "I'm not lying. Otherwise, why would I take you to the police station to help you find your family?"

Judson's face went pale. "Honey, do you not want me?"

Nancy's face showed a mix of emotions. "At first, I indeed didn't want you, but..."

Looking at Judson's wounds, especially the bandaged head, she remembered how Ann had driven at them and how Judson had saved her.

He was so selfless to Nancy. Probably, no one else would go to such lengths for her.

"Judson, I'm grateful you saved me. While you haven't regained your memory, I would take you in, but don't call me your wife. Just call me Nancy, okay?"noveldrama

Before she could finish, Judson joyfully hugged her tight. "Babe, you said it yourself. I'll regain my memory and remember how we became husband and wife!"

Nancy was somewhat at a loss for words.

What was the point of arguing with someone sick? Sooner or later, Judson would regain his memory, stop calling her his wife, and leave.

Taking Judson in was her way of repaying his kindness. Besides, seeing the eagerness in his eyes, fearing she might get angry, she couldn't help but give in.
