Chapter 897 Unsubtle Hints
Chapter 897 Unsubtle Hints
The man appeared to be in his thirties. He clearly was the owner of the shop. Due to the shop's small size, he managed the roles of owner, waiter, and cook all by himself.
Yulia couldn't help her disappointment after finding a new face in the shop.
Kingsley studied the man's face and smiled. "I remember the previous owner, Mr. Mccarty. Why isn't he running this place anymore?"
"That's my dad," the young man replied with a sheepish smile. "He can no longer handle the work as he's almost sixty. Now, he spends his days at home playing with my son, so he handed over the shop to me."
Surprised, he turned to Kingsley. "It seems like you used to come here a lot, but I've been running this place for over two years."
Kingsley nodded. "I used to come here often, but I haven't had the chance in the past few years since I haven't been around Cleapolis." After that, he set the menu aside. "There's no need for the menu. We'll have two Spaghetti Bolognese and whatever side dishes you recommend."
Luke, the owner, gave him a thumbs up. "You truly are a loyal customer. Our Spaghetti Bolognese is absolutely amazing! Please wait a moment. Your food will be ready soon!"
Then, he turned around and hurried back to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Yulia stared at Kingsley thoughtfully. "What a surprise. I didn't expect that you used to come here as well."
"That's right." He nodded. "It was probably ten years ago. I used to come here often for their Spaghetti Bolognese."
As he spoke, he glanced at Yulia, his mouth twitching with suppressed amusement. He wondered when Yulia would realize that he was her brother.
However, Yulia seemed oblivious to any connection between the handsome man sitting across the table and her snotty-nosed little brother. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
She only smiled sweetly and said, "Really? What a coincidence. I was also a regular here ten years ago. Maybe we've met before!"
Kingsley couldn't help but find her innocence amusing and somewhat sad. Yulia had the purest soul among his seven older sisters. Surprisingly, she was still this oblivious after all these years. He would say the hints he gave her were not subtle at all, yet she failed to connect the dots.
He couldn't help but lament, The universe had graced Yulia with a model's body but forgot to give her a little more wit.
A while later, Luke left the kitchen with two plates of Spaghetti Bolognese.
"Enjoy your meal." He carefully placed the food on the table. "Please wait a moment. The side dishes are coming right up."
Gaze falling on the food, Yulia's voice trembled slightly. "Although they have renovated this place, the food tastes the same."
Kingsley had a feeling that Yulia would think of him again, and the idea pained him.
"Sir, do you still serve boxed drinks here?" Kingsley asked Luke. "Back then, whenever I came here, Mr. Mccarty would always give me those drinks. I actually miss them."
Kingsley kept his eyes fixed on Yulia as he talked. He believed that he had said enough, and Yulia should be able to take the hint this time.
As expected, she suddenly looked up in surprise. "You also got those drinks from Mr. Mccarty? Back in the old days, he always gave them to Kingsley and me whenever we came here. You—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Luke interjected, "Yes, we still serve those drinks. They're in the refrigerator. Like my dad did, you'll also get them for free from me."
At the same time, Yulia's phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and was instantly at a loss for words. It was Hillary calling.
She took a deep breath and answered the call with a heavy heart, "Hillary."
"Where are you?" Hillary shrieked. "I'm outside your place right now, but why aren't you home?"
