Alicia waited in the car for nearly half an hour before Caden finally approached. His chest heaved as if he’d just run a marathon, and his shirt clung tightly to his muscular frame.noveldrama

Alicia’s gaze lingered before snapping out of it. “Did Corey touch you?” she asked, eyeing him for injuries.

Caden, slightly hoarse and out of breath, replied, “He didn’t lay a finger on me. And he’s fine—just too drunk to throw up, so I kicked him to help him sober up.”

Alicia couldn’t help but chuckle. “With that kick, he probably threw up everything, including his dignity.”

Caden quickly called someone to pick Corey up before driving back to the Ward Mansion with Alicia.

Though Caden wasn’t hurt, the scrapes on his knuckles told Alicia he hadn’t held back.

Alicia thought about the next day as she applied ointment to his hand. “Gemma should feel better tomorrow. I’ll buy her a gift and visit her at the hospital.” She glanced out the window and spotted a shop. “Stop here—I’ll grab something.”

After making her purchase, Caden surprised her by buying an ice cream cone.

Alicia blinked. “I thought you didn’t like sweets.”

“Felt like having some,” Caden said casually, offering her the first bite before finishing the rest in a single gulp.

Alicia stared, stunned. “Aren’t you worried about freezing your throat?”

Caden shrugged, unfazed.

Something about his mood seemed off, but Alicia couldn’t quite figure out what it was.

Back at the Ward Mansion, Alicia felt drowsy and longed for a nap. However, before she could head upstairs, Caden wrapped his arms around her from behind, pulling her close. He kissed her neck softly, their fingers intertwined as his chest pressed against her back.

Half-asleep, Alicia was too weak to resist his teasing and let him do as he pleased. She murmured, running her fingers through his short hair, “Are you jealous?”

Caden smirked, continuing to kiss her. “Why would I be jealous?”

Alicia whispered, “I never bought hangover medicine for him. He made that up.”

Her explanation only fueled him further, his kisses deepening. He pressed into her more forcefully, the cabinet rattling with the intensity of his passion.

Tears welled up in Alicia’s eyes—not from pain, but from the sheer intensity. Her nails dug into his taut muscles as she gasped his name.

Caden stopped abruptly, his breath uneven. “Did I hurt you?”

Alicia’s cheeks flushed, and she buried her face in his chest. “No.”

In truth, she had enjoyed every moment. Even though she didn’t vocalize her feelings, Caden could sense it. Her body told him everything. His jealousy faded, and he lifted her up, carrying her to the bedroom.
