Chapter 136
"What do we need to talk about?" Gideon asked, holding Analise's hand and pressing it against his chest.
His pounding heart was a reflection of his current feelings.
"About future me and young you," Analise said, surprisingly not resisting him.
Sensing his heartbeat, she glanced up at him.
"Hm?" Gideon blinked, but realization soon dawned on him.noveldrama
In this timeline, Analise was still completely oblivious.
"You'll find out soon," he said with a light chuckle and pecked the back of her hand.
"No. I want to know now," Analise said solemnly. "You knew about Purification Bow, Purification Potion... What else do you know?"
"You used Purification Bow the first time you descended from the skies. Later, you used it to fend off some weird creatures," Gideon replied, dropping his gaze.
"As for Purification Potion, you gave it to me before you left. You said you trusted me with it because I was smart.
"You also said Purification Bow was a weapon you used for self-defense and that I would also have my own weapon in the future.
"It wasn't until later that I finally found out that you were different. After all, the water you gave me healed my injuries right away.
"Besides, you were the one who told me to analyze its composition. You said that someday in the future, it would come in handy and that we could make a huge profit from it..."
Analise was mostly on board with what he said up to that point, but after hearing his last sentence, she was certain she definitely said that. It totally sounded like something she'd do.
No wonder Gideon was selling the potions for 20,000 Cosmocoins each. So, that was the reason.
Still, wasn't he a little too obedient?
"Did I say 20,000 Cosmocoins a vial?" Analise asked tentatively, withdrawing her hand.
Watching her pull her hand away from his chest, Gideon looked a little disappointed. Even his voice turned slightly aggrieved as he asked, "Is that too expensive?"
He tilted his head and continued, "But those alliances can afford it. They're well off. We need to cover the cost of the reagents."
"I guess so," Analise said, remembering that 20,000 Cosmocoins probably meant nothing when she had a monthly allowance of a million Cosmocoins.
Indeed, money was enough to change the way she perceived things.
If a vial of medicine cost 20,000 dollars in the common era, she would've just let herself go mad Others were the ones at a
disadvantage if she'd gone
berserk-not her.
"Well... What else would you like to know, Ana?" Gideon asked, fixing his gaze on Analise as she wandered around his lab.
"Nothing," she deliberately said. "I doubt you'd tell me the truth anyway."
"But I'm telling you the truth! Don't you believe me?" Gideon whined, visibly anxious.
He indeed wasn't lying and had done whatever Analise told him to do. The only things he kept from her were his past experience and injuries.
Having still remembered the way Analise looked at him, he knew he couldn't let her worry. He'd put the past behind him anyway.
Analise fell silent and continued scrutinizing the items around her.
Seeing that she wasn't responding to him, Gideon hastily called out, "Ana!"
He could never maintain his composure in front of her.
"Fine. I understand," Analise quickly said.
She knew if she ignored him a second longer, he'd go berserk.
"If the future me gave you a Purification Potion, that meant you were trustworthy. I'd always trust myself-no matter which point of time I'm at."
Analise was fiddling with a trinket in the lab. The deer trinket was the size of a keychain, and it felt familiar. She felt like she had seen it somewhere recently. But where?
"What's this?" she asked, handing the trinket to Gideon.
"You gave this to me when I was a child," he replied. "You said it'd keep me
company, as if you're physically there with me."
What do you think?
