Chapter 54
Analise immediately rushed to Finlay's side.
"I'm fine, Ana."
Finlay shook his head, pressing a hand against his chest. "Is Scott okay now? Did he break through successfully?"
Analise replied, "He's conscious, but it'll take some time for him to fully control his mind essence. Can you hold on?"
Crouching beside Finlay, she pulled a tissue from her pocket and wiped the blood from the corner of his lips.
She came to the conclusion that Finlay was truly a devoted friend, still worrying about Scott even after being crushed by his mind essence.
A loud bellow suddenly echoed through the air.noveldrama
Analise turned to see Sawyer attempting to escape while Scott was still struggling to regain control. Fortunately, Karl arrived just in time to block his path.
Karl's eyes burned with rage as he locked his gaze onto Sawyer. "Uncle Sawyer, are you really going to stay this stubborn forever?
"Do you think you can just walk away from these responsibilities? The entire Interstellar Alliance knows you colluded with the Vexoths and the Reclaimers, do you understand that?"
Pain filled Karl's expression as he glanced at Sawyer before shifting his gaze to Wayne, who was standing at a distance.
Since the moment Wayne hid behind the statue, he had been livestreaming everything. As he had predicted, Sawyer had hidden the fake female here. That was why he had waited and streamed the moment live.
At first, the stream only drew little attention. However, the moment Sawyer walked out of the darkroom with the fake female, the audience count doubled. Later, when the fake female pleaded for Analise to save her, it doubled again.
Sawyer scoffed, tilting his horned head. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Karl sighed heavily. "That robot female hacked into Cosmoseek and live-streamed everything that just happened. The entire Interstellar Alliance has seen it.
"My father was also waiting for you to show yourself. From the moment you stepped into the courtyard to the moment you brought out the fake female, it was all live-streamed. The security force is already on its way.
"Uncle Sawyer, you weren't always like this. Why? If you wanted the lordship, you could have just told me. I would have given it to you!"
Karl's eyes burned with sorrow. The
kind and fighteous uncle he once knew was gone. Now, all that remained was a man who had colluded with the Vexoths and the Reclaimers.
Sawyer stiffened, and his head snapped toward the robot female in shock. "What?"
His mind reeled as he struggled to grasp how she still had self-awareness.
"Why? Aren't you just a robot? They said you were completely under control!"
Sawyer's eyes darted as he tried to make sense of it. "Why is your programming malfunctioning? Something must have gone wrong. Right Analise touched her earlier... But no, she was already showing signs of malfunction before that."
Sawyer had no idea what had caused the error. He wasn't the one who built her, so he had no way of figuring out the question.
"You don't have to worry about that. Just sit back and enjoy the rest of your life in Interstellar Prison," Scott said.
He shifted back to his therian form, radiating a completely different energy. He had broken through and become an SSS-grade mind essence wielder.
Sawyer immediately shouted, "What are you all waiting for? That fake female is right there! If you don't capture her now—"
His words were cut off by a violent cough as Scott's mind essence crushed down on him, making it impossible to breathe.
"Everyone, this robot female is a
special case. Ana has already calmed her, and Interstellar's security force will handle the rest. If any of you want Ana's help, wait for your turn and show some sincerity," Scott said.
Outrage erupted among the therians.
"Why should we listen to you? We rushed all the way here, and now you're telling
us we can't capture the robot female? Are you treating us like fools?"
"Exactly! Ms. Chamber hasn't said anything yet. Who do you think you are to decide for her?"
The person next to him tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "He's the commander of Stormclaw Alliance."
The therian's confidence visibly faltered. He muttered, "That still doesn't make this right."
What do you think?
