Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem)

Chapter 0306

Knox's POV

Sliding my hand over the sheets to look for my angel, I felt my lips pull into a pout upon not feeling her or the warmth her body should have given the bed.

An uneasy emptiness settled beside me, the cold sheets a stark contrast to the lingering heat of the night before. Irritation pricked at me; waking up without Lottie wasn't how I envisioned starting my day. After everything we'd been through, I craved nothing more than to hold her close, to reassure myself that she was truly back where she belonged.

Flipping onto my back, I looked up at the ceiling, my lips shifting from a pout to a smirk as her scent drifted over me. The soft aroma of lavender and honey enveloped my senses, stirring memories of the way her hair had felt between my fingers, the sound of her laughter filling the room. It was intoxicating, a reminder of better times and a promise of what could be.

"Angel," I called out, but when nothing came back, a flicker of annoyance sparked within me. She loved these little games of hide and seek, but this morning, I wasn't in the mood. I wanted to see her sleepy smile and hear her teasing retort. The silence was unsettling. I sat up, my head spinning a little as memories of our time alone flooded back. My body reacted instinctively, and my arousal pressed uncomfortably against the quilt. Thoughts of her soft skin against mine, the way she'd whispered my name it all ignited a familiar heat within me. "Don't hide from me; I can smell you," I groaned, starting to stroke myself. But as her scent began to fade and the silence continued to greet me, I let go of my cock with a frustrated sigh. Slipping from the bed just as the door burst open, the abrupt intrusion jarred me further. Annoyance flared; couldn't I get a moment's peace?

"We have a problem," Kane boomed before he even entered the room; Adam, quick on his tail, followed by Liam. All three sets of eyes dropped to my obvious arousal.

"Really?" Kane complained, shaking his head in disgust.

I couldn't help but chuckle at their prudish expressions.

"Like you don't get morning wood," I laughed, walking toward the bathroom. We were wolves, for crying out loud-nudity and natural reactions were hardly shocking. Their discomfort amused me. But beneath the humour, a ripple of irritation remained.

But in truth, although I was annoyed that Lottie wasn't here, I was more annoyed that Kane was. Our relationship was so far gone that I actually despised my brother's presence. And for good reason, he had chosen duty over our mate, over family, and that betrayal cut deep.

He always put the pack's expectations before her, before us. The memory of him agreeing to that dreadful deal, wiping Lottie's memories, still ignited a burning anger within me. How could he claim to love her and yet cause her so much pain?

"Not when my mate has been kidnapped, no," Kane growled, closing the space between us. My heart skipped a beat.

"What did you say?" I snapped, turning to face him fully.

"Adam says she was here with you last night..." Kane accused. My eyes shifted from Kane to Adam. Pushing past Kane toward him, anger surged through me like wildfire.

"Tell me what happened," I demanded of her brother. I could feel Kane behind me, undoubtedly pissed that I was ignoring him, but frankly, I didn't give a fuk what he wanted to hear. His concerns were the least of my worries; all that mattered was finding Lottie. "Like Kane said..."

"I am not asking Kane. You see, his judgement when it comes to our mate is not exactly sound now, is it?" I snapped, my eyes levelling on Adam as I stepped closer, trying to intimidate him. The air grew thick with tension. Adam met my gaze evenly, unfazed by my aggression.

"I suggest you tell me, and quickly..."noveldrama

I snarled, closing the gap. Kane

yanked on my arm to get my

attention. Without thinking, I spun,

my fist colliding with my bet

jaw, sending him tumbling backwards into a pile of filthy laundry that Lottie had clearly

sorted. Something I had just noticed, and it sent a mix of satisfaction and regret flickering through me. She had not ghosted me...

My heart swelled seeing that she hadn't just vanished from my bed after a fleeting encounter but had taken the time to clean up the mess that clearly bothered her. It was such a Lottie thing to do-always thoughtful, always caring. The made her absence all the more palpable, a knot tightening in my chest.

"Stay," I warned Kane as he pulled himself up, fighting the urge to shake out my fist from the pain. My knuckles throbbed, but I refused to show any weakness. Kane glared at me, a mix of anger and hurt flashing in his eyes, but he remained silent.

"I suggest YOU take a step back and chill, Knox," Adam warned, a sly smile spreading across his lips. His amusement only fueled my irritation. Who was he to tell me to chill? The audacity was infuriating.

"Or what?" I laughed arrogantly. "I have Havoc." The mention of my wolf was both a threat and a reminder of the power I held. Havoc stirred within me, ready to rise if needed.

"Or you'll get a reminder of why you

were brought home naked, unconscious, and bloodied, while I sat next to Lottie," Adam warned.

Despite the anger boiling in meet

couldn't dismiss his words. I fought to recall the fragments of last night's fight, the haze of violence and loss of control. He had a point, and escalating this wouldn't help anyone-especially not Lottie.

"Fair," I shrugged, stepping back and taking a deep breath. "Sorry. I just get a bit feral when it comes to my girl," I admitted with a half-smile.

"What happened?" I asked Adam, my eyes solely on his not trusting myself to look back at my brother for fear I would take this darkening mood out on him, not that he didn't deserve it.. But if I killed him it meant I would have to run this pack and I would rather burn it to the ground then be its alpha.
