too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian)

Chapter 371

Kieran's soft laugh was charming, and his eyes were filled with amusement.

"It's going to get colder tonight, and it might snow. Would you like to have stew tomorrow if it's the first snow?"

His voice was deep, with a slight rise that gently stirred her emotions.

Lila wanted to punch herself. Why did she never think before speaking?

But when she heard the word "stew", she paused, and her thoughts suddenly drifted.

Having stew on the first snow was something she had done in her first year with the Morgan family.

That year, the first snow had come early and heavy. Within half a day, it had piled up to their ankles.

Noah had woken her up early.

"Hurry, let's build a snowman!"

Wearing the cute pink down jacket that Kieran had chosen for her, she stood in the snow, feeling a bit dazed.

Noah was as excited as a dog cooped up too long, running around the yard and rolling snowballs.

She touched the snow-it was so cold.

When she looked up again, Kieran had already come up to her.

"Put on your gloves, don't hurt your hands."

Lila looked up at him, her peripheral vision catching sight of the two enormous snowballs Noah had rolled, and he was preparing to start on the third.

She thought to herself, Kieran was steady and really handsome.

How could someone be so handsome?

That day, Noah ran around the yard while Kieran stayed with her to build one big snowman and one small snowman so they would have company.

After they were done playing, Noah suggested stew for dinner.

Kieran asked Lila for her opinion, and she said the first snow was perfect for stew. Thinking of this, Lila suddenly froze.

It seemed that Kieran would take her for stew every year since then on the first

snow.

A surge of indescribable emotion rose in her heart.

"If you don't want to..."

Kieran's words were only halfway out when Lila interrupted him. "Sure, the first snow is perfect for stew."

She lifted her gaze, meeting his eyes. This time, she saw the gentle emotion in his gaze.

Later that night, Lila couldn't sleep.

She belatedly realized how odd she had been lately.

She suddenly sat up straight, half-asleep.

What was this feeling?

Lila suddenly remembered her emotions when she first started dating Dorian.

She clenched her fists tightly. She felt shameless and despicable.

She had fallen for Kieran.

The snow fell silently in the late night.

Like the snow, Lila's emotions piled up inside her, leaving her confused and helpless.

...

The next day, the snow seemed even thicker, and the pine tree's branch snapped under the weight.

She stood in front of the large floor-to-ceiling window on the balcony, gazing out at the vast whiteness.

Kieran draped the pink coat over her shoulders. "Want to go out and take a look?"

Lila snapped back to her senses, her expression as relaxed as usual. "When did you buy me new clothes again? This color is very similar to the one you bought me when I first came to the Morgan family"

It was the same color as the one she wore on the first snow that year.

She walked ahead, her steps crunching softly through the snow, noveldrama

which helped ease the

heaviness inside her.

Kieran followed behind her, watching her pink figure stand out against the vast whiteness.

She looked like a pink camellia blooming in the middle of the snow.

Lila suddenly turned around and came back toward him.

In the next moment, the cold snow hit his face, and he instinctively stepped back.

Lila bent down with a smile. "Uncle Kieran, I didn't know you could get scared

too."

Kieran

Ked at her helplessly,

using

his fingertips to flick a little snow and dot it on her blushed face.

"It's so cold."

She was caught off guard and quickly dodged, like a frightened little deer in the woods.

After playing in the yard for a while, they built one big and small snowman, just like that year.

When it was time for dinner, the snow started falling heavily again, so they decided to have stew inside.

After eating and drinking to their fill, the gloomy weather made her feel a little sleepy.

Lila returned to her room to nap while Kieran went to the study to work.

She had a deep sleep. When she woke up, it was already 4:00 pm, and the sky outside had turned dark.

As she was about to head down, she heard voices coming from downstairs.

Did they have guests today?

The girl's voice wasn't loud, so Lila couldn't make out what she said.
