too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian)

Chapter 552

Moses added, "I looked into it. Mr. Morgan's trip today was a last-minute decision, strictly for Morgan Group's business. It had nothing to do with the Moore family.

"Faith stopped him this morning, caught Mr. Morgan on his way out, and used 'wanting to learn' as an excuse to get Mr. Morgan to take her along."

Lila chuckled. "Kieran isn't the type to be forced into anything he doesn't want."

Moses nodded in agreement. "But have you considered this? If the Moore family is determined to make this happen, they'll find a way. No matter how capable Mr. Morgan is, do you think he can dodge every trick they might pull?"

He looked at Lila through the window, his gaze serious. "If anything happens between them and Faith ends up pregnant, do you think the Moore family won't use that to threaten him? And when that happens, do you think you and Mr. Morgan can just go on living peacefully?"

Lila lowered the window a little more, just enough for a slender hand to fit through.

She studied Moses. He wasn't that old, but the way he spoke, and the way he looked at her, carried a maturity far beyond his years.

"You don't believe me?" he asked.

Seeing the calm, unwavering look in her eyes, Moses frowned slightly as if puzzled by her reaction.

Lila lowered her gaze, then let out a soft laugh. "I do. I believe you. Thanks for the warning. I'll go find Kieran in a bit. The Moore family won't get a chance to mess with my life. And thanks, if you ever need anything, you can come to me. I'll do what I can to help."

Moses paused for a second, then chuckled. "No need. I warned you because we're in the same boat. If that leads to us becoming friends, great. If not, at least I followed my conscience."

He gave her a small nod, then turned to move his car.

But Lila didn't drive into Vermilion Estate. Instead, she reversed and pulled away.

A few turns later, she parked by the side of the road.

Her expression had gone completely cold.

The Moore family still wouldn't give up on Morgan Group. That much was clear. But Faith...noveldrama

Lila couldn't afford to gamble on what Faith might do.

What she could do was stay on guard against whatever dirty tricks the Moore family might pull.

After a moment of thought, she sent Cole a message.

She parked by the roadside and waited. Over half an hour passed as she kept an eye on the surveillance camera around Vermilion Estate. Moses hadn't left until ten minutes after she did.

Her expression remained cold.

She waited a little longer. Only after confirming that Moses was completely gone did she turn the car around and head home.

The next day, Lila had no pressing matters.

She spent the morning resting at home, took Nova for a vaccine, and then headed to the office in the afternoon.

While passing by the artist management department, someone called out to her.

It was a young actress the company had signed half a year ago.

Back when she first joined, Cedric had wanted Lila to mentor her, but Lila simply didn't have the time.

She did, however, help the girl pick out a script. What happened after that and who she was assigned to, Lila had no idea.

"Ms. Hart." The girl smiled as she approached.

Lila stopped, nodding slightly. "Something wrong?"

"I heard from the company that Mr. Jordan gave you a new script. I was recently nominated for Best

Supporting Actress so I wanted to

sk

would you consider letting me audition for the female lead?"

"The lead has already been cast. It's Jamie," Lila said gently. "But I think the third female role would suit you well You should give it a shot, it's pretty kable character

The girl hesitated. "The lead's already set?"

Then, she smiled again. "I heard I was almost assigned to you when I first joined I was a little

disappointed when it didn't happen, but now that we have the chance to work together im happy if you say the third female role is good, I trust you. I'll audition for it."

Her playful grin was genuine, and Lila nodded. "Good luck. I have things to do, we'll talk later."

"Of course. I won't keep you."

The girl's bright, sweet smile lingered until Lila walked away. Then, the moment she was out of sight, her face darkened.

Third female lead? Seriously?

She acts kind and easygoing, but in the end, she's just as snobby as the rest.

Casting Jamie as the lead, wasn't it just because she's the daughter of Lane Group?
