True Love Deserves a Second Chance

Chapter 381 Revealing True Feelings

Alexander returned to the hospital room to find that Sophia had already finished her meal.

Seeing the empty plates, Alexander smiled smugly. "I've spoiled you with my cooking. You only eat my food and no one else's. From now on, I'll cook for you every day."

He handed the medicine to Sophia with a smile. "You've had your meal and your shot. Now it's time to comfort me. Help me apply the medicine."

Sophia pointed towards the bathroom, indicating that there was a mirror inside and he could do it himself.

Alexander pretended to be clueless. "Do you want to go to the bathroom to help me? Do you want to apply the medicine or sneak a kiss?"

Sophia thought she should have just bitten his throat off earlier. She angrily snatched the medicine bottle from Alexander's hand and grabbed a cotton swab.

Sophia dipped the swab in the medicine and applied it to his wound. With an injury on her leg, she could only sit on the bed.

At 6.3 feet tall, Alexander had to bend down for Sophia to reach.

Sophia was wearing a loose hospital gown due to her rib injury, making it impossible to wear a bra. Her slender figure in the oversized gown allowed Alexander to see everything from his angle.

He lowered his eyes, seemingly obedient while waiting for the medicine, but in reality, he was staring inside Sophia's gown. The sight made him feel hot all over, and his Adam's apple bobbed a few times.

Alexander's voice was low and hoarse. "It finally grew a bit, but after two years without a massage, it shrank back."

At first, Sophia didn't understand what he meant and focused on applying the medicine. When she finished and saw Alexander staring directly at her chest, she realized what he meant.

Furious, Sophia shoved the medicine-soaked cotton swab into Alexander's mouth. She glared at him and then wrapped her gown tightly around herself.

Alexander grinned mischievously. "Why are you embarrassed? I've already tasted it. Can't I even look?"

Sophia screamed internally and thought, 'Who will save me and take this bastard away?'

Just as she was about to lose it, the door opened.

Betsy poked her head in and smiled. "Sophia, can I come in?"

Seeing her, Sophia felt like she had seen her savior and immediately waved her over.

Betsy jogged over and nodded at Alexander. "Mr. Cross."

Then Betsy hugged Sophia. "Sophia, you've finally achieved your dream. Can you attend the award ceremony next week? Many fans are waiting to see you."

Sophia took out her phone and typed: [Let Ms. Vale accept the award for me. I can't walk or talk, so I can't go.]

Betsy looked disappointed. "So you won't be able to talk anymore? Does that mean you can't act anymore? Your fans are very concerned and keep asking our company for an explanation."

Sophia: [I'll make a statement in a few days.]

Sophia gave Betsy a lot of work instructions and then looked up to see Alexander staring at her.

Just as Sophia was about to tell him to leave, she heard Alexander's hoarse voice. "Sophia, I want you to scold me."

His eyes were bloodshot, tinged with sadness. Seeing Sophia giving work instructions made him truly feel sorrowful. He knew how hard it had been for her to get to where she was.

She wasn't a professional actress and had suffered a lot. When she first started, she played the most marginal roles and couldn't even make ends meet. Now she had finally won a major acting award, only to have an accident.

Thinking about how hard Sophia had worked to achieve her success, Alexander felt a pang of sadness. He walked to her bedside and looked at her. "Sophia, I will make sure you go back to work. I won't let your career end like this."

Alexander's demeanor was no longer playful; he spoke with deep sincerity.

Sophia couldn't help but feel moved. She moved her lips a few times but swallowed

the words she wanted to say. She took out her phone and typed a few words: [I don't need your pity. I won't lose hope.]

Alexander smiled bitterly. "Sophia, I used to find your mouth annoying, but now I realize that I like you mostly because of it.

I thought you were noisy, but you brought so much joy. Even if you can talk again, I won't argue with you. You can scold me all you want, and I promise not to talk back." He held Sophia's hand and looked at her tenderly. "Sophia, after you got hurt, I realized I really like you. Not just in a way that I want to sleep with you, but in a way that I want to spend my life with you, just like we used to, bickering and all." Sophia: [But I don't like you.]

Alexander brushed her cheek with a smile. "If you don't like me, why haven't you thrown away any of the things we bought together? You kept them all in good condition."

Sophia: [You not only broke into my house but also invaded my privacy.]

Alexander said, "Those are our shared memories. When I go home and see that little bear on the bed, I remember our first kiss. You bit my lip so hard. You must have been really eager back then."

Sophia felt she couldn't continue this conversation. If they kept talking, Alexander might describe their intimate moments in detail. She lay down on the bed, closed her eyes, and didn't want to see him anymore.noveldrama

Seeing her like this, Alexander wasn't angry at all. He quietly sat by the bed and gently stroked her hand.

Sophia fell asleep without realizing it.

Watching her sleep, Alexander couldn't help but lean down and kiss her forehead. In a hoarse voice, he said, "Sophia, no matter what happens to you, I'll spend my life with you."

This scene was witnessed by Melanie at the door.

Melanie bit her molars in anger. She thought that with Sophia disabled, Alexander would give up on her. But she didn't expect that not only did Alexander not leave Sophia, but they were also about to reconcile.

She couldn't tolerate it and immediately took out her phone and sent a text message.

A week later, Sophia was discharged from the hospital. Joey came to pick her up. Sophia sat in a wheelchair, Joey pushed her, and Alexander carried the luggage as they walked out together.

They ran into Melanie, who approached them with concern. "Dr. Cross, the director is looking for you. There's an emergency surgery that needs your attention." Alexander frowned. "I'm busy."

Seeing this, Joey immediately said, "Give me the luggage. The patient really needs you." She took the luggage with one hand and pushed Sophia with the other.

At that moment, a nurse called out, "Miss Sinclair, you left something in the room." Joey looked at Melanie. "Can you watch Sophia for me? I'll go get it." Alexander and Joey both left.

Melanie's eyes turned sinister as she looked at Sophia. "Sophia, I was going to let you go, but you shouldn't have seduced Alexander. Now you can't blame me."

With that, Melanie pressed the acceleration button on the wheelchair. Sophia, in her wheelchair, sped towards the escalator.
