Chapter 385 My Wife
Alexander had never been this serious before; his narrow eyes were fixed intently on Sophia.
However, Sophia was unmoved by his confession. After all, he had once despised her, and now he was being overly nice. It didn't feel good at all.
Moreover, she had almost died because of Melanie. If Alexander hadn't deliberately used Melanie to provoke her, Melanie wouldn't have dared to harm her. It was him who gave Melanie hope and then crushed it, leading Melanie to want to eliminate her.
Thinking of this, Sophia's expression remained unchanged. She smile coldly. "Mr. Cross, whether your affection is real or fake, I still want to thank you. But what I want to say is, I don't like you. We're all adults; this little matter won't affect the relationship between our families."
Alexander asked, "Sophia, what will it take for you to forgive me?"
"Sorry, this isn't about forgiveness; it's about liking or not liking. Mr. Cross, didn't you call off the engagement because you didn't like me?"
Her words left Alexander speechless. He had said he didn't like her, which was why he repeatedly wanted to break off the engagement. Now, Sophia used the same reason to mock him.
He looked deeply at Sophia and said in a low voice, "Sophia, I will make you like me." Alexander still had a playful smile on his face. "Come on, everyone, sit down. Today, Faun won a big award, and we must celebrate properly."
Sophia thought, 'This bastard, does he not understand what I said? How could he act as if nothing had happened? Even calling me Faun. My parents don't even call her that now. Why does he call me so intimately?'
Sophia didn't speak to Alexander but sat aside playing with Paxon.
Throughout the meal, Alexander acted like the host, busy and cheerful. After dinner, he took the initiative to escort the Sinclair family to their hotel. Then he drove to Sophia's house.
Alexander directly entered the password to open the door. As soon as he entered, he saw Sophia asleep on the living room sofa, holding her trophy.
Alexander walked over quietly. He squatted beside Sophia, looking at her delicate face, and couldn't help but gently brush her cheek with his fingertip. He suddenly felt her skin was a bit moist.
Alexander suddenly felt sorry for Sophia. He knew how hard it was for her to win this award and how much she had suffered. He saw her choke up several times during her speech at the award ceremony but forced herself to hold it back.
Alexander slowly took the trophy from Sophia's arms and placed it on the table. Then he bent down and picked her up, heading towards the bedroom.
At that moment, Sophia suddenly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Alexander's handsome face. She immediately struggled and said, "Alexander, what are you doing?"
Alexander placed her on the bed, leaned down, and pinned Sophia to the bed, looking at her with deep affection. "What do you think I should do?"
Sophia glared at him angrily. "If you dare to mess around today, I'll call the police and have you and Melanie locked up together."
Alexander smiled and pinched her cheek gently. "Don't worry, I won't touch you. I promised your grandfather I would take good care of you."
"My grandfather was drunk; his words don't count."
"But I'm not drunk, so I took it seriously. Sophia, stop avoiding me. I've missed you these past two years."
After saying that, he buried his face in Sophia's chest and deliberately rubbed it a few times.
Sophia was wearing a silk camisole nightgown, and his rubbing made his chin press against Sophia's soft parts. This made her break out in goosebumps.
She pushed him away and scolded angrily, "Alexander, if you want to make love, go find a prostitute. Don't bother me."
Alexander lifted his head, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at her. "I only want to make love with you, not with someone I don't like."
Sophia sneered, "You talk as if you're so pure. Weren't you and Melanie always ambiguous?"
"Sophia, I told you, I never liked her. What will it take for you to forgive me?"
"But you gave her hope. You knew she liked you and always flirted with her, and you didn't stop her, making her mistakenly think you liked her. That's why she saw me as an enemy, thinking that only by getting rid of me would you truly belong to her. Alexander, although the harm I suffered has nothing to do with you, it was indirectly caused by you. You can't deny that, can you?"
Alexander couldn't help but laugh as he watched her talk non-stop. "This side of you is the cutest. I know I hurt you by doing that before. That's because you suddenly broke up with me. You kicked me out just like that. I have my pride too."
"Wasn't it because of the photos Melanie sent me..."
Sophia stopped mid-sentence. If she broke up with Alexander because of that photo, that meant she liked him.noveldrama
Alexander looked at her in surprise. "What photo? What did Melanie send you? Let me see."
After saying that, he took Sophia's phone without asking and unlocked it with the password.
Alexander quickly found the chat between Melanie and Sophia. When he saw the photo, he gritted his teeth in anger. "That's not me at all. Sophia, didn't you notice that the man's hand isn't mine? My hands have served you so many times, and you still got it wrong."
He always talked so explicitly. Sophia was so angry she didn't speak, just glaring at him.
Alexander realized and laughed, rubbing her face. "So you broke up with me because
of this photo, right? So you were jealous. You ignored me for two years, so you do have feelings for me, right?"
Sophia said, "Are you kidding me?"
"Don't deny it."
"Alexander, stop wishful thinking. I forgot about what happened two years ago. From now on, I don't want to have any relationship with you. Do you understand? Please leave my house."
Alexander wasn't angry; instead, he smiled smugly. "Alright, I get it. You have a good rest. I have to take Mr. Sinclair and the others to the airport tomorrow morning. You don't need to go."
"I don't need you to do that. I'll find someone else."
Alexander laughed and ruffled her hair. "I'll be your husband sooner or later. Letting you enjoy the treatment of my wife in advance, and you're not happy?"
What do you think?
