Chapter 819
Chapter 819
"We're here, Mr. Everett," said the driver.
Gino snapped out of his daze and gazed out the window at the huge, opulent doors of the hotel. He then glanced at the map on the laptop.
The address was correct.
Was this one of the places where Hera worked? This was one of the smaller companies under XS Corporation. How could none of them realize that she worked here before this?
But then, Gino remembered that the hotel belonged to Bernard. His dislike for Bernard intensified at the thought that Hera was working at the hotel because Bernard owned it.
"Wait for me," said Gino, putting down the laptop and leaving the car.
A receptionist greeted Gino when he came to the lobby of the Majestic Hotel.noveldrama
"Welcome to the Majestic Hotel," she said.
Glancing around, Gino saw some people checking in. After they were done, he went up to the receptionist and asked, "Does Hera Youngworth work here?"
"Hera Youngworth?" The receptionist thought the name sounded familiar. Come to think of it, there wasn't any employee in the hotel who had that name.
She shook her head. "No."
"No?" Gino was dubious.
That was impossible. Hera was dropped off at the hotel. Was it possible that she used a pseudonym or another name?
With that in mind, Gino unlocked his phone and dug out a few photos he couldn't make himself delete back then. One of them was a profile photo of Hera that he had saved from her WhatsApp account.
He had changed his phone twice in the past five years, and every time, he would not forget to make a copy of these photos and transfer them to his new phone.
"Do you know her?" he asked, showing the receptionist Hera's photo. "She has with her a young boy and a girl who're both four years old. They're twins."
The receptionist recognized Hera right away because she helped Hera to check in. Hera was astoundingly pretty, and she came to the hotel with two cute little babies.
Because of that, the receptionist had a deep impression of Hera. That was why she found the name so familiar when Gino brought it up just now.
However, according to the rules of the hotel, the hotel employees couldn't expose the customers' information.
"And you are?" she asked.
She denied it, so it had to mean something. Gino quickly told her, "I'm her brother. Does she work here?"
"What?" The receptionist's jaw fell. Hera? Working at the hotel?
She was staying in the best suite the hotel could offer and even paid for half a month's fees
with just her card. With that level of lavishness, why would she need to work at the hotel? "Are you really her brother?" The receptionist sounded dubious.
Gino then told the receptionist Hera's ID number. Only then did she believe him.
Eventually, the receptionist said, "She doesn't work here. She stays here."
"What's with all the questions, then-" Gino started to rant but then thought he might've misheard her. "Wait... What did you say?"
"She stays here," the receptionist repeated.
Gino was flabbergasted. He thought Hera took up three jobs and that the money she earned wasn't enough to support herself and the twins. How was it possible that she was staying at such a luxurious hotel?
The Majestic Hotel was a five-star hotel. It cost quite a fortune to stay here for so long.
"Which room are they staying in?" Gino asked anxiously.
"Hold on," said the receptionist as she reached for the phone and called Hera's room. She needed to get Hera's permission before she answered Gino's question.
No one answered the phone after two calls. The receptionist then said, "She isn't in her room right now. She must've gone outside. You can call her yourself or have a seat and wait for her over there."
"I'd like to book a room, please," said Gino. He slid his ID card across the counter. "I want a suite next to or opposite hers."
"Sorry, but we don't have any penthouse suites left. Is it alright if you get the room on the floor below hers?"
"Okay, just tell me her room number."
After helping Gino with checking in, the receptionist told him, "Her room is 1606. Yours is 1506."
After taking the key card to his room, Gino took the elevator to the 15th floor and took the stairs to the 16th floor.
When he reached Room 1606, he rang the doorbell and waited, but no one opened the door for him.
Worried that Hera and the twins would return after he left, he decided to just stand and wait for them by the door.
What do you think?
