Under the Veil I Rule

Chapter 302

As Amara had anticipated, the moment she stepped into the grand hall, a wave of surprise swept across the crowd.

Apart from Finnian and a few others, no one had ever seen Amara without her mask. They were all taken aback by the stunning beauty who had just entered, only to realize moments later that it was indeed Amara. Their surprise deepened.

Amara felt a flutter of nerves. She had spent years working behind the scenes, her self-esteem bruised by the scars she bore, and had never been the center of attention for her looks. Her heart raced a little faster.noveldrama

Taking a deep breath, she composed herself and walked in as if nothing was amiss.

"Is that you, Ama? Did you get your face treated? You look absolutely stunning," Martin and Andrea exclaimed as they approached her, their compliments genuine.

Amara nodded in acknowledgment, exchanging a few casual words with them. Soon enough, Peter and Bess joined in, commenting on her appearance in a tone that was dripping with flattery.

Recalling how Peter and Bess had looked down on her in the past, Amara found the situation both amusing and ironic.

Trailing behind the couple was Celeste, clutching a small purse so tightly that it seemed she might tear the strap, her eyes green with envy as she stared at Amara.

Amara couldn't stand Peter's family, Celeste included, and wasn't in the mood to engage with them. She uttered a few courteous words before moving towards Mr. Kevin Everly.

Mr. Kevin Everly was already seated at the head of the table, waiting for her. As she approached, he extended his hand, "Our Ama looks so beautiful. Lisa told me you looked great without the mask, but I didn't expect you to be this stunning."

Amara smiled and looped her arm through Mr. Kevin Everly's, playfully asking him to stop with the compliments or she'd blush.

She was well aware that her unmasked appearance would cause a stir. After all, most of the people present had, at some point in the past three years, mocked her to varying degrees.

Seeing the person they once ridiculed now transformed and so beautiful was bound to astonish them.

But Amara had no interest in proving anything to these people. She was content with living her life well without paying heed to their gazes.

"Glad you made it," Finnian said, coming up beside her. Amara nodded and casually asked, "What's Mr. Kevin Everly planning to announce?"

Finnian, dressed in a casual yet sleek black suit, had opted out of wearing a tie for the small gathering. His usual handsome demeanor was intact and together, they made quite the striking pair drawing curious glances from the room. Amara felt a little awkward under the scrutiny, focusing her eyes on her shoes.

Finnian seemed to know what Mr. Kevin Everly was about to announce and was just about to speak when

Mr. Kevin Everly's voice boomed across the room, "I've gathered

everyone here today to announce something important."

His voice was strong and clear, an indication of his good health, and the room fell

silent as all eyes turned towards him.

Pointing to Finnian, Mr. Kevin Everly continued, "That's my grandson Finn, and

you all know him well. I'll get straight to the point."

"The sole purpose of this gathering

is to announce that from now on, I will hand over the position of chairman of the Everly Group to

Finn. He will lead the Everly family into the future. You all have watched Finn grow up, so I hope you'll

support him."

The Everly family was the most prestigious in the Wye business district. It was usually others who sought the Everlys' favor, not the other way around. Mr. Kevin Everly's words were just a polite gesture.

The heads of several prominent families stepped forward to congratulate Finnian, who responded graciously to each. Meanwhile, Amara discreetly took a few steps back, seizing the moment to slip away from the spotlight.
