Chapter 30 Punishment

Hailey’s Point of View

“Where do you plan to take me?” Chloe asked.

“In Bloody Jail.”

“Why punish me because I hurt that woman?” She asked and pointed at me.

“Don’t point at her with your dirty fingers and hands.”

“Go protect her. I’m no longer afraid of Bloody Jail or even you. I’ve experienced going there, so I’m no longer afraid. ” Chloe bravely said.

“It wouldn’t be called Bloody Jail if there were no surprises.”

When we got to Bloody Jail, Raine and Raze were also here.

As soon as we entered, I felt that the whole area was getting hot.

The Demon released Chloe. He had a hand mark on Chloe’s arm.

He went to the side and pressed the red button. What is in front of us now has been replaced by boiling lava that resembles a volcano.

He grabbed Chloe again and carried her to the very center of the lava with a rock that was about to sink.

“Why am I here? Get me out of here!”

“Aren’t you scared?”

“You will taste the punishment of a demon.”

The Demon took a dagger from his pocket.

He stabbed Chloe’s entire body.

“S-Stop that. I’m having a hard time. ” Chloe begged.

“I’m just getting started. Don’t worry after that, there’s still hell waiting for you. ”

The Demon dipped the dagger into the lava. Chloe’s whole body trembled as she looked at the dagger.

“W-What are you going to do?” Chloe stammered.

“Your body will be painted.” The Demon’s horrifying answer.

He placed the dagger on Chloe’s body, which he slashed. Chloe cried out in pain.

He grabs a stick and slaps Chloe.

The Demon suddenly steps on Chloe. Chloe almost cringed when Demon stabbed the dagger in Chloe’s stomach.

I can’t bear to see her die just because of me. I need to do something!

I dared to walk, but Raze suddenly grabbed my hand.

“Don’t do anything that will harm you.”

“But Raze. If I don’t do anything, Chloe will die. ” I said and looked at Chloe again.

“This is all she can do to pay for the pain that she gave to you.”

“You don’t know Demon very well yet. ”

“When he says, no one can object.” He continued.

“Killing at this university is legal. Especially if Demon is the killer. ”

The words Demon said when we first met came back to my mind. Murder is legal.

This is not fair!

I no longer hesitated and I walked away, but Raine blocked me.

“Hailey, you’re just going to hurt yourself.” She said and looked straight at me.

“I can’t stand here and watch her die.”

“There’s nothing you can do. The law is law. ”

“I can’t accept that I can’t do anything to help her.”

I just tweaked my hair out of annoyance.

“Be strong, Hailey. Being weak only makes you hurt more.” Raine said.

I just looked up. They are right. I could do nothing but watch until they died.

I returned my attention to the Demon as he continued to stab even Chloe was dead.

He called for the guards to pull Chloe, and they threw her into the boiling lava.

My chest tightened when I saw that he had mercilessly killed Chloe.

I noticed another dagger stuck in her back. Did she end her own life to end her suffering? Damn it!

They came out of Bloody Jail while I was selflessly walking until I was stopped by a woman.

“Ms. Angel? What are you doing here? ”

“Follow me.” She said this and walked away.

Even though I had no idea why she wanted to talk to me again, I still followed her.

We stopped at an area where there weren’t too many students.

“What do you need to tell me?” I started the conversation.

“Why do you seem to be falling in love with Demon?”

“We’re talking about you accepting the position to help your father and not to make you fall in love with Demon.” Her long litany.

“Direct me. What do you really want? ” I asked her.

“I just want to remind you that we are against Demon and the whole university. Don’t let your father’s plan be ruined just because of love. ” She said before she left.

Am I really ruining my father’s plan? Why does it break my heart every time I remember that this university and Demon are our adversaries?

Is it true that I’m in love with Demon? And I completely forgot what we talked about with Ms. Angel.

I’m confused. I don’t know if I’m doing it right.

I just went straight to our classroom and found that the class was starting. They stopped when they saw me, but I just went to my seat.

I sat down next to Agatha.

“Do you have a problem?” Agatha asked.

“If I say, you might worry too, so just don’t.”

“Tell me please.” Agatha said.

“We’re your friends, so tell me what’s your problem and what’s bothering you.” She added.

“I just remember what Demon did to Chloe.” I lied.

I don’t want them to worry, so as much as I can keep it a secret, I will do it to keep them out of harm’s way.

“Is that really what’s on your mind?”

“Yes.” I said and smiled at her.

I don’t even want to lie to my friends, but if that’s the way they don’t get into trouble, I will.

My attention went to the students holding the code.

“What are you doing?” The professor asked.

The student immediately passed the code to the student in front of him without knowing it.

“Shaina, why are you holding that code?”

Shaina stood up.

“I don’t have a code.”

“What’s on your table?”

Shaina couldn’t speak anymore.

“Go to the headmaster’s office now!” The professor shouted.

Shaina was about to come out, but I stood up so I could get the professor’s attention.

“Shaina doesn’t hold the code anymore.”

“Then who’s in charge?! The wind? ”

I pointed out the students who really had the code.

“Is what she’s saying the truth?” The professor asked.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“Answer me!” The professor shouted, so they nodded.

“Shaina, go back to your seat. You go to the headmaster’s office.”

I sat up and took a deep breath. I did something right today, but that wasn’t enough.
