When fate plays its hand

Chapter 694

“What… What are you two doing?” Zach stood frozen in place, holding a wash basin. His eyes were wide, and he looked like a total fool.

Miranda and Winter both turned to look at him simultaneously.

“Why are you so slow? It took you an hour just to buy a wash basin.” As she spoke, Winter took the wash basin from his hands and turned to Miranda with a smile on her lips. “I’ve already got some warm water. I’ll wipe you down in a bit. Then, you’ll feel much better”

“Thanks, Winter. You’re the best!”

“Well then, you shouldn’t dodge me when I try to give you a kiss next time.”

“No way, I’ve been sleeping all day. My face isn’t washed, and my hair isn’t brushed. How could I accept a kiss from a goddess like you in this state?”

“It’s alright, I don’t mind,” Winter remarked.

After giving her the wash basin, Zach still didn’t move an inch from his spot. He was utterly dumbfounded. What the hell was going on?

“Hmm? This logo…” Winter stared at the wash basin for a moment. Then, she turned to Zach with an Incredulous look. “Don’t tell me you bought this wash basin from the Hermès store?”

“That’s right!” Zach lifted his chin and said smugly. “What do you think? I have good taste, right?”

However, Winter didn’t respond.

“What’s with that expression?” Zach asked.

“This expression is reserved for gullible people like you. There are shops outside the hospital selling wash basins for ten or 20 dollars. And you went to Hermès like a sheep?”

“What do you mean, a sheep?”

“Didn’t you get fleeced like a sheep? And a fat one, at that.”

Zach was at a loss for words.

“Forget it. We’ll make do with this.” Winter glanced at it in disdain. It was all style but ng substance. It wasn’t even as good as a cheap plastic wash basin,

“Winter, you’re the one who told me to buy it! I bought it, and now you’re nitpicking! When have I ever run errands for anyone? And you’re not even-

“Can you shut up already, Mr. Graham?” Winter turned to him with a dangerous smile.

Zach immediately fell silent, as quiet as a mouse.

Miranda blinked as her eyes darted between the both of them. This drama was too good to pass up! Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“What… What else?”

“Get out!” Winter was so done with him.

Zach glanced at the wash basin and towel in her hands before he finally understood. “Oh, I’ll leave right

away.

With that, he disappeared faster than a hare.

Winter called out, “Shut the door!”

“I know that! Can’t you talk to me a bit more gently?”

“Get lost!”

Zach sighed. “Forget I said anything,” he thought.

After the door was closed. Winter readied a basin of warm water. “Come on, Mimi.”

Miranda couldn’t help but comment, “Winter, I think you’ve become naughtier recently.”

“Huh? How am I naughty?” She was confused.

“Your mischievous behavior reminds me of Zach.”

“What?”

Zach was waiting for Winter as she stepped out of the hospital’s main entrance. He waved when he caught sight of her. “Winter, over here!

Winter paused in her tracks and turned to look. “Why are you still here?”

“I’m waiting for you. Get in.” His tone sounded so natural, as if waiting for her was only expected.

“Who asked you to wait for me? If you’re so free, go get a job.”

“No… Come on, I’ve been waiting here for almost an hour. Ms. Jefferson, can’t you at least show a little appreciation?”

Winter couldn’t help but burst into laughter at his dramatic act. “Fine, since you’re so sincere, I’ll let you give me a ride.”

He was about to hop out and open the car door for her himself, but Winter had already gotten into the passenger seat on her own before he could unbuckle his seatbelt.

Zach sighed. He didn’t even have a chance to be chivalrous.

As soon as Winter sat down, there was a soft click. The car doors and windows were locked.

Raising an eyebrow, she turned to look at Zach. “What are you trying to do?”

Zách smirked and leaned in, sealing her lips with a passionate kiss.
