When Her "Death" Couldn't Break Him

Chapter 1994

Chapter 1994 Stop Pestering Her

As the door swung open and closed, Magnus wanted to get up and chase after her, but a wave of pain in his stomach and a bout of dizziness held him back.

Left with no other choice, Magnus had to lay back down.

He wanted to rest peacefully, but as soon as he closed his eyes, the words Denise had spoken earlier echoed in his mind.

I really didn't expect a woman with such a fiery temper actually had a boyfriend... Magnus felt a nagging discomfort in his heart.

He simply couldn't fall asleep, so he opened his eyes, pulled out his phone, and decided to browse a bit.

He was taken aback at first glance.

He only found out then that his granny had gone to seek Cecilia and had caused quite a commotion online. Consequently, it had led to trouble for both of his uncles' companies.

In the past, Magnus would have certainly disregarded everyone. But now, he understood that his granny was definitely upset because he had taken the forty million.

Magnus wasn't sure if he could return that huge sum.

There was also the substantial debt he'd previously accrued. He doubted that earning two hundred thousand a day would be enough to clear it.

"Ah... Why was I so foolish back then?" Magnus regretted not living a simple and honest life before.noveldrama

The wealth his father had left him was so substantial that even if he did nothing but indulge every day, he wouldn't exhaust it in ten lifetimes.

However, he insisted on playing the big boss to prove himself. And now, not only had he squandered all his wealth, but he also found himself deep in debt.

Magnus didn't want his granny, who was of advanced age, to keep struggling. He also knew that he owed Cecilia.

He then dialed his granny's number.

Meanwhile, Heather was in a state of panic at the hotel. She had visited Jamieson Group earlier that day but was turned away by the security. She wanted to see Cecilia, but it was impossible for her to do that.

The phone rang, and Heather picked it up. Seeing it was an unfamiliar number, she promptly hung up.

Over the past few days, she had been receiving phone calls from random numbers. Their sole purpose was to berate her.

It was only now that she understood that the internet was a double-edged sword; while it could be used to harm others, it could also leave oneself vulnerable to harm.

Magnus was somewhat puzzled. Why wasn't his granny picking up his calls? He tried calling again, but the call was still disconnected on the other end. Left with no other choice, Magnus could only send a text, indicating it was him. Upon seeing that the incoming call was from her beloved grandson, Heather immediately answered, then began to lament, "Sweetie, you've finally called me." "Granny, I'm sorry for only calling you now," Magnus apologized.

Heather was somewhat incredulous. Her grandson had never apologized to her before.

"My dear, have you encountered any troubles out there? I still have a few tens of thousands saved up. Just give me your bank account number and I'll transfer it to you."

Magnus truly hadn't expected that his granny would still be willing to give him

money now. How could he possibly not be moved by this?

However, he didn't want to continue relying on his family like he used to,

depending on his parents, sister, and granny for support.

"Granny, I'm doing well. I don't need any money,"

"Okay, then. That's good. If you really don't have the forty million, then let it be. Don't wander around outside anymore. Come back home," said Heather her heart aching for her

beloved grandson.

She didn't mind enduring some hardships herself, but she couldn't bear to see Magnus suffer.

"I can't return just yet. I called you because I wanted to check on how you're

doing. There's also another matter."

"I'm fine. What is it that you want to tell me?"

"Granny, please stop bothering my sister," Magnus pleaded.

Heather paused. "You mean Cecilia?"

"Yes. For my sake, please stop

pestering her. She was never part of our family to begin with. She's already done more than enough for

both you and me Magnus

articulated each word carefully.
