Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 1050

"Maybe."

Gilbert nodded, understanding the sentiment all too well, "They're getting on in years, better to have a young couple to keep them company in their old age..."

His thoughts naturally drifted to Jenna, "So, Sherilyn, about us..."

"Let's get going."

Sherilyn, rubbing her belly, cut him off, "I'm starving... Wonder if Rebecca's awake yet?"

...

Upon entering the South Building, Sherilyn headed straight upstairs to the guest room where Rebecca White was staying.

Rebecca White was already awake, the curtains drawn back allowing the thin morning light to filter in.

After freshening up, Rebecca emerged from the bathroom.

"Rebecca," Sherilyn approached, taking her hand and inspecting her closely, "Good, your eyes aren't swollen. Did you sleep alright last night?" "Yeah, it was okay." Rebecca White smiled softly, nodding.

Sherilyn sighed quietly, realizing the toll the ordeal had taken on her friend. Rebecca White's face seemed more angular overnight.

"Maybe you shouldn't go to work today?"

Sherilyn was concerned, "How about calling in sick?"

"No need."

Rebecca White smiled gently, refusing, "I'm alright now... life goes on as usual."

"Okay." Sherilyn nodded, not arguing.

On this front, Rebecca White was quite like her.

"Rebecca, come..."

It was still early, Sherilyn sat down with Rebecca White, "There are some things your brother asked me to pass on to you."

At the mention of Francis, Rebecca White immediately frowned.

"What could he possibly have to say?"

"Don't rush..."

Sherilyn held her hand, her voice soothing, "I'm just the messenger. Whether you believe it or not, accept it or not... that's up to you. You trust me, right?"

"Yeah..." Rebecca White nodded.

She definitely trusted Sherilyn, knowing she wouldn't unfairly side with Francis.

"Then go ahead."

"Alright..."

Sherilyn spoke softly and slowly...

After she finished, Rebecca White sat quietly, her pale face showing little emotion after the previous night's shock.

Sherilyn carefully observed, "Does what your brother said match up with your memories?"

"

Rebecca White closed her eyes tightly.

Struggling to speak, "That day... I went into the wrong room..."

Tears followed as she shook her head in anguish, "I don't know why I ended up in the wrong room! And then he just happened to..." ...happen to be drugged!

Sherilyn hugged her sympathetically, "Your brother said he looked for you afterward... but by then, you and

belongs to

Eddy had reconciled, so... Conoveldrama

She didn't finish, but Rebecca White understood.

Because Eddy had taken her back, he didn't pursue her further. Thinking that the incident had just passed...

"And after that, your brother had an accident..."

Becoming comatose for several years.

Unaware of all the tragic events Rebecca White had endured...

Sherilyn handed Rebecca White a tissue, "That's all your brother wanted to say... What you do next is entirely up to you, don't force yourself."

"I know." Rebecca White took the tissue, drying her tears.

Sherilyn helped her up, "Shall we go down for breakfast?"

"Sure..."

As they headed out, Sherilyn pondered and then asked, "About James... do you have no recollection at all?"

Rebecca White paused, then shook her head blankly.

"None..."

The thought of James brought mixed feelings.

"But," she added, "I have no memory of ever being pregnant, of having a child..."

Sherilyn frowned, silent for a

moment, then said, "What about

Eddy? You were still married at the

time, no matter how poorly he

l.ne

treated you, he must have known if

you were pregnant or had a child, right?"
