Chapter 237
Brian couldn’t help but furrow his brow at Natalie’s sudden question.
“Seriously?” he muttered under his breath.
Was it possible that Natalie had been unfaithful, carrying another man’s child?
Then Natalie was confused. Why did Brian treat Madelyn with such indifference, even less consideration than he gave to Gracia?
For a fleeting moment, she wondered if Nate could be Robert’s son, and with Robert gone, Brian might be treating Nate as his own, even claiming him publicly as such.
But Brian’s dismissive comment shot down that theory.
Their eyes met, and confusion deepened in Natalie’s gaze.
After all, Madelyn had given him Nate, such an adorable child. He adored Nate, so why was he so cold to Madelyn?
She felt her mind tying itself in knots. It was the first time in years she had been this perplexed.
“What did she say?” Noticing Natalie’s expression, Brian leaned in and asked quietly.
“Nothing much. Just asked you to call back,” Natalie replied, her voice low.
After saying that, she picked up the script beside her and resumed reading with a steely
face.
Brian could tell she was jealous again. After a moment, he stood up and walked upstairs.
Natalie watched his retreating figure, feeling an even greater sense of unease.
She could barely hear his voice from upstairs, the words indistinct. “Got it…Okay…
”
When Brian returned after finishing the call with Madelyn, he found Natalie curled up on the couch, her face hidden behind the script. He sat beside her, staring at his phone in
silence.
Natalie glanced at his phone screen. He was scrolling through Twitter.
She hadn’t expected Brian, a man of many responsibilities, to be on social media. She hadn’t seen him use it before.
He was looking at trending tweets about Annika and Madelyn. After a while, he turned to Natalie.
Caught peeking, Natalie put down the script and asked, “Are you going to help her?”
“Yeah,” Brian nodded.

Natalie frowned involuntarily. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
“She just called Grandpa,” Brian reached for her hand, pulling her into his embrace. “If your had told me a few minutes earlier, I would have called her first, and Grandpa wouldn’t have had the chance to agree to help.”
Natalie knelt in his arms, staring at him without a word.
“Grandpa instructed us to give Madelyn a way out to save face for the Harris family. After all, we’re long–standing family friends,” Brian continued.
Natalie looked at him, expressionless.
“Are you jealous?” Brian gazed at her, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
In truth, Brian could easily recognize Natalie’s voice.
Natalie loved to sing. When she was younger, Brian had heard her hum songs all the time. He listened to a few of Annika’s tracks and knew right away. Annika was Natalie.
But he didn’t want to burst her bubble, curious how long she would keep up the act.
