Chapter 421
Chapter 421
Bridget tightened her hands around the quilt, not knowing how to explain it.
"Why don't the newlyweds sleep together?"
"Mom... Jacob threw up on that quilt. I'll take it downstairs and wash it." Bridget found an excuse after a
while of pondering.
Daisy stretched her brows and asked with concern, "Did he drink too much?"
Bridget nodded slightly.
"Then you need to take good care of him," Daisy said.
Daisy was more or less concerned. Anyway, Jacob knew everything from Bridget's past. Now they
were together. Jacob chose a woman who had married once. She felt somewhat sorry for him.
Daisy was worried and reached for the quilt in Bridget's hand. "Give it to me. Go back to your room and
take care of him."
Bridget avoided her hands. "Mom, it's okay. I will do it myself."
Daisy looked up at the clock on the wall. It was almost midnight. "Don't wash it now. It's late. You
should go back to sleep."
Bridget gripped the quilt tightly, failing to find a suitable excuse. It seemed that Daisy would not let go
unless she came back to her room.
Bridget had no choice but to go back.
Jacob didn't sleep. He was sitting on the bed. He heard the talk between Daisy and Bridget.
He was not surprised to see Bridget come in. He stood up from the bed. "You can sleep here."
Bridget stood by the door with the quilt in her arms. There were only a bed and cabinets in her room,
not even a sofa. If she slept on the bed, how about Jacob then?
"What about you?" Bridget didn't move.
Jacob glanced around the room and failed to find any suitable place to sleep. Finally, he pointed at the
bedside and said, "I'll sleep on the ground tonight."
"It's almost November." The ground must be super cold.
Bridget handed the quilt to Jacob, then moved the quilt on the bed away, with a space left. "We both
have a quilt and we can share the bed."
After moving the quilt, Bridget looked up at Jacob.
Jacob stood by the bed without moving. It was hard to tell if he was joking or serious. "I drank and I
was afraid of misbehaving at night."
Would it be bad if I did something?
[Bridget said nothing]
Knock, knock
Then came Nanny May's voice. "Bridget, are you sleeping? Give me your quilt and I'll wash it."
Bridget looked up right into Jacob's eyes. Nanny May was asked to wash the quilt in the middle of the
night?
Was she joking, or...
Jacob stared at the ceiling silently. Was it a test for him?
Bridget scratched her head and pretended to be woken up. She replied in a sleepy voice, "I'm already
asleep... I'll give it to you tomorrow."
Nanny May turned to Daisy. She was sure that Daisy had heard the conversation.
They were already asleep.
The reason why Nanny May would knock on the door and ask for the quilt in the middle of the night
was because of Daisy, who deliberately called Nanny May to check if the newlyweds were sleeping
together on the same bed.
She always felt that something was wrong between Bridget and Jacob, but she couldn't tell why. So
she was always worried.
Nanny May held Daisy's arm and walked her to the room. "Don't worry. Relationships can be cultivated
through interaction. Even if there might be external reasons for their marriage, they will get closer
gradually after sharing intimate time together every day and night?"
Nanny May's words stunned Daisy. It seemed that she had sensed something.
External reasons?
Thinking it over, Bridget and Jacob had known each other for a long time. Before there was no
chemistry between them but they suddenly fell in love.
She seemed to have figured it out and became even more worried.
She went back to her room and shared her worries with Mr. Jones.
Mr. Jones put down the book in his hands and looked up at her. She was probably the last to know
about the relationship between Jacob and Bridget.
Looking at his expression, Daisy suddenly became serious. "Did you already know this?"
Mr. Jones didn't say anything, as if he acquiesced in her words.
Daisy picked up the book on the table and threw it at Mr. Jones. "Why didn't you tell me? What about
Bridget? This is the second time she's married. If she gets divorced again this time, then next time
she'll be on her third marriage ..."
Mr. Jones picked up the book and put it on the table. He took Daisy to sit by the bed. "I think Jacob is a
good man. If they can get well with each other, it would be great. But if not..."
We could do nothing about it.
Let's just say Bridget was ill-fated.
"Stop thinking and get some sleep." He patted her on the shoulder.
Lying on the bed, Daisy couldn't sleep and suddenly sat up. "No, I won't allow another divorce for
Bridget."
Mr. Jones had already fallen asleep but was woken up by her.
"Why are you still up?"
Daisy pushed him. "How about I ask them to stay at home?"
Mr. Jones sighed. "Is that even possible? Maybe there are enough rooms, but it will become very
crowded. Now we have three children..." There were also two servants, a driver, Xavier and Arya, the
two of them, Jacob and Bridget. The space would be limited.
"I don't care about that." Daisy leaned against the bed. "If we don't keep an eye on them, we won't
even know whether they sleep together or not. They would have some scruples about living here in
view of our presence. Nanny May was right about the development of love between them."
Daisy made up her mind before turning off the lights to sleep.
The atmosphere in the whole Jones Family was strange tonight. Bridget and Jacob shared the bed
together. They were physically close, but mentally distant.
Downstairs, Xavier wanted to spend some intimate time with Arya, but he was constantly stopped by
things every now and then.
Just like now, he couldn't even cuddle Arya when falling asleep.
Ryan insisted on sleeping in between, separating him from Arya.
Xavier was depressed all night.
In the morning, Ryan woke up early. He had developed the habit of jogging in the morning. Arya
dressed him, washed his face and brushed his teeth.
Ryan stood on the low stool in front of the sink and turned to Xavier, who was still lying on the bed. He
said, "Mommy, daddy did not sleep properly. He tossed and turned at night and woke me up several
times."
Arya had a sound sleep and she was completely unaware of this. She wiped his face. "Really?"
"Yes, mommy, next time let's sleep together and leave him alone to avoid disturbing others," Ryan said
with a serious look.
Arya hung up the towel and didn't hear what Ryan said, so she didn't reply.
Ryan pouted his hips. "What about my suggestion, mommy?"
Arya replied casually, "Okay." Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
After getting him dressed, Arya led him out. Mr. Jones had already got up and was waiting for Ryan in
the living room.
After Ryan left, Arya returned to the room and glanced at the person on the bed, who seemed to be
having a sound sleep.
She walked to the wardrobe, picked out the clothes she was going to wear today, and took off her
pajamas. She had already given birth to two children but her body was still very slender, without any
extra fat. Her skin was smooth and exquisite. Perhaps it was because she had not breastfed, her
breasts were still mellow and appealing, with a perfect shape.
She changed her clothes and did not realize that the person on the bed had woken up a long while
ago. He even heard every single word of Ryan. And right now, at this moment...
