EPISODE 53 Find a man
IN CONNECTICUT
Meagan’s offer to have dinner with Jones made him extremely happy. Jones was looking forward to having a nice weekend with her and he has already started looking for restaurants to have dinner with her.
Ethan on the other hand also did a great job at keeping in touch with Meagan via text messages but he only called a few times due to his busy schedules at the hospital. He also made an offer to have Mr Swift transferred to Cleveland hospital so he would enjoy free medical expenses because Meagan is a top staff but she refused the offer. Meagan stated that it wasn’t her decision to make alone and she doubted if her mother would ever agree even though they don’t need to pay for the medical expenses. Meagan had ended the conversation that day by saying the doctors at Bradley hospital are doing a great job too.
Ethan coughed a few times. “Are you okay?” Meagan asked.
He cleared his throat before speaking up. “I woke up with sore throat this morning but I already used medication.”
“Alright. Please take good care of yourself.” Meagan replied.
Ethan wished her father quick recovery and said his goodbye before she disconnected the call.
Penelope moved from the couch she sat on to settle beside her sister.
“What?” Meagan asked when her sister looked at her suspiciously. She knew her sister was up for something. It is either Penelope wanted to ask silly questions or gossip about a distant family member. Meagan picked the former.
Penelope cleared her throat. “So which of them are you seeing?”
Meagan raised her eyebrows in confusion. “I don’t understand.”
Penelope repositioned herself to face her sister. “I am talking about Ethan and Jones. Who are you seeing? Is it Jones or Ethan? Or are you confused about who to pick between them? I am can help you.” She rushed out her words.
Meagan rolled her eyes. “No, it’s not-”
Penelope interrupted her. “You should choose Ethan. He is a cool guy and from a wealthy home. You guys would look good together. I mean.. you are a doctor, he is a surgeon and also the director of one of the best hospitals in America. For Jones, I feel he might be too clingy and over protective too which are red flags in a relationship. So you should go out with Ethan.” A bright smile played on her face.
Meagan feigned a smile. “Jones’s family owns a textile company and he is the director of the branch at New York.”
“Wow! Lucky you girl, your suitors are great!” She clapped her hands in excitement.
“But mind you, I am dating none of them.” Meagan said.
Penelope smile faded. “Why? You don’t want a relationship yet?” She demanded.
Meagan shook her head. “I don’t want to see anyone.”
Penelope frowned. “You are not getting younger anymore. We are all fixed with partners except you.”
Meagan stood up from the couch but before she could say her next words, Penelope interrupted her.
“Listen right before dad collapsed, he asked me if you already found someone. I said no and he planned to set you up with some of his colleagues children. Do you remember Carlos?” She asked.
“Yes Carlos, the boy you had a crush on in high school.” Meagan replied.
Penelope snapped her fingers. “Yes! Dad wanted to set you up with him. Carlos is the first on the list and he seemed interested because he agreed to meet you almost immediately.”
“He shouldn’t even dare set me up with any man.” Meagan folded her arms across her chest.
“Then you should find yourself a man before dad chooses someone for you or even worst-mom.” Penelope pointed a finger at her sister.
“They won’t force me to marry anyone right?” Meagan hands dropped to her side.
Penelope stood up from the couch. “It’s up to you. Are you still having a hard time getting over your ex-boyfriend? What’s the dude name again?” She tried to remember.
“Max.” Meagan reminded her.
“Yes Max, is he the one stopping you?” Penelope frowned.
“No, I am over Max now.” Meagan answered.
“Then why won’t you date someone else? Well I was hoping you would find someone at Hazel’s wedding as the chief’s bridesmaids. I mean.. there must have been plenty guys at the event.” Penelope shrugged.
Meagan looked away from her sister. “Did you scare those men away with your antisocial personality and that cold stare?” Penelope demanded but she got no response from her sister.
Meagan did met someone who didn’t withdraw because of her antisocial personality and cold stare. She had met a strange man who made her panties wet with just few words. She didn’t know that he was more than a man. He was something more. Something beyond her imagination. He is the alpha, what she least expected him to be. She remembered a few perfect moments with the alpha.
Meagan found her thoughts drifting backward, the hours of perfect and intimate moments in alpha Carl Damien’s arms. She couldn’t stop wondering if she would ever get involved with any man that way again. It was hard for her to imagine having another day of fantasy with anyone else. But she also found herself concluding that she might do it again with him-the warlord and alpha.
Penelope looked at her sister oddly as a small crimson color flamed her cheeks. “Are you okay?” She snapped her fingers right in front of Meagan’s eyes jolting her out of thought.
Meagan jerked in fear, she was surprised to see her sister right in front of her. Her mind had wondered too far that she didn’t notice Penelope’s movement.
“What were you thinking?” Penelope asked.
A tedious expression played on her face. “Nothing… I was just thinking about dad’s health.” She lied.
“Is this a blush on your cheeks?” Penelope tried to pinch her cheeks and but she pulled back.
Meagan frowned. “Stop it.. Penelope.” She has to keep a blank face so her sister won’t keep the questions coming until she spilled everything. Well it won’t be easy forgetting about the alpha of moon stone pack.
“Alright. But try to consider Ethan, he is a good guy. But Jones-” Penelope’s voice trailed off.
“Jones is a good guy too.” Meagan completed her unintended sentence. And so is the alpha of moon stone pack. She thought within herself.
“I don’t want our younger ones getting married before you. Ethan. Ethan. Ethan. He is the right man for you. And get rid of the cold stare on your face and always wear a smile on it to attract more men into your lonely life.” Penelope tapped Meagan’s shoulder before walking away.
Meagan heaved a sigh of frustration. “I don’t even want anyone.. I just want to work, work and fulfill my mapped out plans for the future.” Meagan mumbled as she counted her fingers. “Buy a house with a big pool, a nice car, pay more attention to work-” she paused. “Having a relationship or getting married is at the bottom of my list. Geez! I don’t even want to think about it!” She flopped down on the couch.
Later that day, around 7:00 p. m, Penelope received a call from their mom saying that their dad already regained consciousness. And Meagan returned back to New York two days later, just a day to when her leave at work ends.
