Alpha's Second Chance

Chapter 0201

ROSE

I woke up to the most delicious smell of eggs, cheese, vegetables, and some meat cooking. I got up and got dressed before I walked downstairs. I could hear Massimo and Pippa, but I could also hear another voice and see an older man sitting at the table and eating.

"Ah, Rose. Good morning. I hope you had a nice sleep," Pippa says, and the two men greet me as well.

"Good morning. I slept very well, thank you. Something smells delicious." I say and smile at her.

"Sit down; I will get you some Frittata," she says and smiles as I sit down.

"Rose, this is my father, Mate. He was the right hand and Beta to our old Alpha,” Massimo says and looks at his dad.noveldrama

"Hello Princess, I remember when your dad called Antonio asking for help. A friend of your father had family in Antonio's territory. After a good talk, they made a deal. Your dad would provide help at any time Alpha Antonio asked for it. And the woman Mia would be denied to leave, for as long as it was needed, to protect you, his little daughter." Mateo said as I ate and listened to what he told me.

"Did you know her well?" I ask him, and he looks at me for a little.

"I didn't have much interaction with her myself. But she was around, and it was not always a good thing." Mateo says.

"Why?" I ask.

"She always tried getting close to the Alpha, and it didn't matter to her that he was mated." He says, and I sigh.

"Yeah, I sort of expected I would hear something like this. And let me say that anything you can tell me, please do. I know she is not a good person. I mean, she rejected me, her two-month-old baby." I say, looking down.

"I never heard that," Mateo says.

"My Dad asked that it wouldn't become others' knowledge, even with what she did. He wanted to give her a fair chance at life. But yes, she rejected my Dad and then me, and it left me broken." I say quietly.

"Is this why I don't smell your wolf?" He asks, and I nod my head.

"Yes. It is. I do not have a wolf or a lycan like my Dad. My soul broke," I told them, still not looking at them.

No one says anything, but I feel two soft hands on my shoulders. When I look up, I see Pippa standing behind me.

"Listen to me. The part of your soul that connects with a wolf spirit might be broken. But it does not mean that you are. You are not worth anything less just because you don't have a wolf. And I am sure your Dad loves you just the same,” she says, and I get tears in my eyes.

"My dad's second chance mate, his queen, my stepmother, who loves me as if she had given birth to me. Always say the same thing.” I say.

"She sounds like a very wise and kind queen," Mateo says, and I nod my head.

"Our people love her," I say and smile.

"When you find your mate, your soul might heal," Massimo says.

"It didn't. And he rejected me." I tell them.

"Then he lost something precious. And he will never have another fated mate, but you, you are not only a daughter of someone who was given a second chance. But you are a good girl. So don't give up. You still have a chance." Mateo says.

"Thank you, you all very kind."

"When that is said, I can understand why you wish to have answers from your mother. When we were

attacked,

many left. Some with the

attackers, others went to the other

friendly territory, and others like us stayed here. Mia left, and the rumors were that she went to the south. I've heard rumors over the years about her, and last I heard, she was around the borders between the two other territories," Mateo says.

"Okay. Thank you." I say, and he smiles.

"We have a few families here from the old territory, and you are welcome to use

the day to talk with them," Mateo says with a smile.

"I think I will do that and then leave tomorrow. Is it okay for me to stay here until tomorrow?" I ask, and Pippa smiles at me.

"You can stay here for as long as you want." She says.

"Thank you. I will go get my shoes then and look for the families you mentioned." I say and look at Mateo.

"The addresses are here. This town is not very big, and they should be easy to find," Mateo says.

I thank him and walk up to the room

I slept in, get my shoes and hoodie,

and then leave the house after letting them know. Mateo is right; the town is not very big, and I easily find my way around. The first two families didn't remember her at all. And I did not expect that the last one did either, so I was surprised when the woman said she remembered her.

"Really? Did you know her, and do you know where she might be now?"

"I knew her because I repeatedly

witnessed her trying to get close to the Alpha She didn't care that he had a Luna or was mated. He always tried to keep her away; he loved and respected my sister too much to cheat on her," the woman says, and I sigh.

"I am sorry that she tried to hurt your sister. I am, in many ways, happy I didn't grow up with her as my mom. Not respecting their bond is the worst," I say and bow my head.

"You don't need to be sorry, and it is not your fault. But I am afraid I can't help you with where she went. I do not know." She says, and I nod my head.

"Thank you for talking with me. I hope you will have a good day." I say, and I decide to walk back to Massimo and Pippa.

Here, I am going to make a plan for tomorrow.
