Chapter 1441
She tilted her head and adjusted her posture. Just before she was about to speak, the caller hung up. The sudden act caught Waverly off guard. She opened her eyes and finally took a good look at the phone in her hands.
That...wasn't her phone...
So, just now-
The woman frowned as her instincts told her something was off.
Waverly didn't know where she got the phone, but it obviously belonged to Wyatt. She had mistakenly answered his call, and even though she should probably just leave his phone alone, the caller from earlier piqued her interest. Her instincts told her to check it out.
She wondered who the caller was. Who would have his private number? And why did the caller hang up? Was it because of her? Was it because a woman had answered the phone instead of a man?
The questions spun in her mind. Waverly started analyzing the situation.
It was definitely not some stranger, and it wasn't his friends or colleagues either. They wouldn't have hung up so quickly. Perhaps someone had called the wrong number? However, the possibility of that happening was also pretty low. They probably wouldn't have hung up without even uttering a word, right?
In the end, there was only one possibility-it was a woman!
Not just any woman, too. Only a woman who had a special relationship with Wyatt would react like that. She had probably alarmed the woman on the other end of the line, causing that woman to hang up out of panic!
The sudden realization made Waverly break out in a cold sweat. Her gaze fell and landed on the caller ID. It was Raynee. There was even a love emoji behind the name. Waverly's face paled as a freezing bucket of water seemed to splash onto her.
Wyatt, on the other hand, had been sleeping soundly until the call woke him up. However, when Waverly answered it, he assumed that the call was meant for her instead of him, so he just lay there for a while before squirming over to Waverly's side. He reached out his arm and hooked it onto Waverly's waist.
"Who is it?" He sounded annoyed, "It's so early. What's the matter?"
The moment his arms made contact with her body, Waverly couldn't help but recall the intimate things he forced her into doing. She was so furious her face turned green. She scrolled through his phone and saw a few unread messages here and there, and even though she didn't open any of the texts, she saw the same name again. "Raynee". Waverly's face became cold and distant as she pushed Wyatt aside and slammed the phone onto Wyatt.
"Wyatt, you're a b*stard!"
She cursed at the man and got out of bed with her clothes in hand. How could she have fallen so hard? They were just acting, nothing more.
Thank God it was that time of the month!
Otherwise, she might end up with something she would regret for the rest of her life!
Men are good-for-nothings. No, wait, except for her father and her brother! Every man on the planet, except for those two, were good-for-nothings! Wyatt was just like that d*mn Franklin Wright!
Rage bubbled inside of her. Waverly grabbed her clothes and sprinted into the bathroom. She quickly put them on and grabbed her shoes and phone before heading toward the door.
When Wyatt saw the phone, he immediately understood what had happened. Reality hit him hard like a bolt of lightning. It cleared his head, though, but he didn't try to explain anything. He stayed silent.
He was, indeed, still in a relationship with Raynee!
Waverly left the room, furious. She didn't even take that bag he got her. Wyatt quickly put on his pajamas and chased after her.
"Waverly-"
Wyatt's hand made contact with her elbow, but Waverly shook him off violently.
"Don't! I'm not staying here when she comes over to kill you! And me! D*mn it! Wyatt Johnson, you bring out the worst in me!"
It turned out that she had ended up a mistress too. It wasn't intentional, of course, but that doesn't matter. She was his lover. A paramour. The third party that wrecks perfectly good relationships.
It used to hurt so much, but now all she could feel was hatred. All the beautiful memories they shared were all burnt to ashes. Nothing was left, except for her wrath for the man.
He had a woman he loved, yet he forced her into doing such a thing with him last night.
She thought he just simply wasn't interested in marriage. She was just there to fulfill his needs until he found someone he truly loved. However, he already had that someone.
Even though they had signed a contract and technically she shouldn't care about where his heart lay, he had broken the rules. They weren't simply acting anymore. She was furious, but she didn't know if it was because of his lies, or because she had developed some kind of feelings for the man that she wasn't aware of. She just wasn't sure. The only thing she was certain of was that Wyatt Johnson was someone she should distance herself from! She had to stay away from people like him!
Her feelings for the man cooled down in a matter of seconds. Her face, her gaze, they were all as cold as chilly ice.
"Don't touch me with your filthy

hands! If you want to continue the deal, bring me the money. I'll do it for three million dollars each time. If you think that's expensive, perhaps it's time you find a replacement! I don't want anything else to do with you! Please respect me as your business partner, and don't come to me again unless it's for business matters! If you continue your recklessness, the deal's off, and I won't ever cooperate with you again!" noveldrama
Waverly yanked open the door, but Wyatt hugged her from behind, "Waverly-"
"I said don't touch me!"
Waverly let out all her emotions with that roar. She turned around and tried to push the man away from her.
"Waverly-"
To be frank, he had planned to talk about this with her last night. He wanted to make their relationship as business partners clear, but he didn't expect things to go out of hand. In the end, the things he came to discuss weren't even mentioned, but they did everything they were not supposed to do. Everything. He should've agreed with what she said. She wanted to burn the bridges between them, and he should've agreed, then they wouldn't have a future together anymore. That was what he came to do, wasn't it? Nonetheless, when it came to it, he couldn't bring himself to say anything. He opened his mouth, but no words came out of it.
All of a sudden, he realized that his body was more honest than his mind. Perhaps she was what he
truly wanted-even though the

expectations. His picky family would choose Raynee over Waverly any day, but he realized that Waverly might be the one his heart truly desired.
With the thought in mind, Wyatt stood still and held onto the woman.
His mind was a mess. What was he going to do? Was he going to deny having a relationship with Raynee? He couldn't do that. She saw everything! Everything was so jumbled up. He wanted to explain, but he didn't know where to start! He couldn't find the right words, and as he tried to reorganize the mess in his mind, Waverly had dashed out of the room. When he finally came back to his senses, the sound of her footsteps had started fading away-
Wyatt sighed and didn't follow her.
What would he do if he did, in fact, caught up to her? He couldn't deny anything she saw, and he still didn't know how he was going to explain everything to her! He recalled everything that happened last night, and he thought about Raynee. Everything was tangled up too bad. It gave him a headache!
He didn't want to do anything out of impulse. That might just make everything
worse.
Eventually, Wyatt returned to his room and got into the shower. He rained himself with cold water.
He got out of the shower after some ten minutes. His gaze fell on the handbag on
the sofa. With his phone in hand, he sat down and caressed the bag, and
daydreamed for a long time. He then called Raynee.
"The person you' re trying to reach isn't available. Try again later-"
It was probably midnight in the United Kingdom. Wyatt understood why Raynee
called him earlier. It was Christmas!
Christmas just ended!
Usually, Raynee was all he would think about during Christmas, but this Christmas, he had completely forgotten about her. He didn't call her or even text
her a "Merry Christmas". He wasn't even paying attention to the time in Casterwich City, let alone the time in the United Kingdom!
Wyatt twirled his phone for a while and couldn't help but pout, "Guess I'm not as
loving as I thought—"
He was far from loving. He was basically heartless!
Had his impulse ended his relationship with the woman he loved the most for the
past few years?
He didn't know if he had a future together with Waverly. He didn't know how long their passion would burn before it was completely extinguished. Regardless of that, he had decided to stop thinking about the future. No more considerations, no more worrying. It was her. It was always her.
He lit a cigar and couldn't help but sigh.
"You've chosen her! Now you've gotta bear the consequences!" He said out loud,
"I wonder if I'm cursed or something? Why do I keep going back to her? Well, it doesn't matter. Whatever happens, it's all on me!"
He closed his eyes and understood that it was his only choice.
It was a good chance! He expected the feelings of remorse and shame to come with his choice, but the guilt was way heavier than expected!
Perhaps time had washed away too much of their love and passion. He couldn't even recall any happy memories with Raynee anymore. Even if he did, he felt nothing! Perhaps he was born a jerk!
All kinds of weird thoughts flooded his mind. "How should I break up with her?" Wyatt wanted to know, "I need to break up with her, but I don't want to hurt her too much. I need to minimize the pain. How can I achieve that?"
He didn't know that on the other side of planet Earth, Raynee was holding onto
her phone as tears poured down her face. However, she couldn't bring herself to pick up his call-
What do you think?
