It was said that a woman's instincts were the most accurate. The theory didn't only apply to Waverly, but also to Raynee. Even though she was half a planet away, she knew what was going on.

Never underestimate a woman, especially a woman in a relationship. Their intelligence would terrify you!

Raynee's hand ran through her hair as her eyes rested on her phone. Her mind was a mess, too, but what happened wasn't completely unexpected. Wyatt had been showing her signs and hints here and there. When he came, it was supposed to be a happy reunion, but he seemed to have lost his fondness for her. He didn't hug her, cherish her, or dote on her like he used to. His flames of passion were long gone!

During their last meeting, he had been daydreaming, on and off. Something was on his mind. He even lost the desire to touch her! Their past memories played in her mind like a long, long movie. Raynee felt fear and loneliness slowly eating her away.

He has really changed, hasn't he?

He said he didn't like getting tangled up in weird, complicated relationships. He claimed that he didn't like women who get jumbled up in elaborate relationships with men. He didn't want the trouble! He said he'd only aim for one, and once he got his target, he would love her, and only her!

He had held on for so many years. His heart never fluttered when a beautiful woman passed by. "I don't mind if your body reacts to them," she used to joke, "As long as your heart's persistent, I don't mind!"

She had always believed in him! She knew he wouldn't do it! Even if he did, she wouldn't mind, but when it finally happened, she realized that she did mind. It bothered her. A lot. It was a dagger, and it kept stabbing her heart.

He said he was a male chauvinist. He was a traditional man. He would have high standards for women, but he would ensure that he himself was worthy as well!

Raynee shook her head. "He's not a playboy, so..." the thought of it terrified her, "Was he being serious with that woman?"

The sudden realization made her anxious, "No, no, it can't be. How could it be?"

Raynee patted her cheeks and took a few deep breaths to calm herself. She was thinking too much. Surely, she was thinking too much!

However, when she picked up her phone, she froze.

There was one missed call. One. And it wasn't immediate! He wasn't calling to explain, or to apologize!

If that woman had access to his phone, then with no doubt, they were together! It was his phone, his personal possession, and that woman had access to it.

She took it, she answered it, and the way she spoke...she sounded pretty calm. She was probably clueless about Raynee! Or else, she wouldn't have answered his calls so hastily. Perhaps that was why Wyatt didn't call Raynee immediately. Perhaps he didn't find out what that woman did so quickly.

But why one? Why only one?

Wasn't he supposed to be anxious about explaining the situation to her?

Raynee checked her messaging apps and rechecked her call history. Her face gradually paled. There was nothing.

No explanation!

No fear! No dread!

No apologies!

Raynee closed her eyes as her heart sank. She understood everything. He called to tell her the truth!

He was going to confront her, and reveal everything. That was why he didn't care if she was angry or upset! That was why he wasn't worried at all!

He was going to tell her everything. And then what? Were they going to break up?

Her whole world seemed to collapse. She clenched her fist, loosened it, and clenched it again. Raynee wondered if she was just having a nightmare. "How did it come to this?"

She wanted it to be a dream. A dream she would never wake up from!

She soon started pleading in her heart. However, she felt a tingling sensation in her scalp which pulled her back to her senses.

She jumped up and shook her head violently, "Raynee Wagner, where's your pride? So what if he breaks up with you? So what? Stop being a coward! Why are you even hiding?"

She mumbled to herself as she clenched her fists. She turned toward her closet and started stuffing all her clothes into her suitcase.

She would be the one to dump him!

She would confront him face-to-face!

She would be the winner in the end! Even if they broke up!

After going mad for a while, the beige handbag came into sight. She froze and slumped back into bed. The mere sight of the man's gift was enough to break her. Tears came rolling down her cheeks once again, and when she finally realized what she was doing, her SIM card had already been broken in half. Her mind was blank except for one thought.

"No, I don't want to break up with him. I can't break up with him! I can't give up now! I've been with Wyatt for so long. We have feelings for each other. He's mine. He should be mine.

I shouldn't be the one to back down from this relationship!"

Rayne wiped her tears and took a few deep breaths. She then jumped up from bed and stormed around the room.

"No, don't be angry, don't break up with him,” she muttered, "Don't make a fuss. He'll get annoyed, he'll hate me, then he'll go to that woman! Then I'll really truly lose this battle!"
