Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 267

Janice didn't spare Simon a second glance before turning and getting into the car.

This time, Simon didn't chase after her. He already knew which hotel she was staying at.

Luther was about to leave as well, but Simon stepped in his way and handed him a cigarette. "Mr. Ziegler, long time no see."

Back in the day, Simon would have never done something like this. But times had changed, and it seemed he had learned to lower his head when necessary.

Credit for that went to Louis and his very effective "lessons" in humility, delivered with fists and kicks.

Luther had no choice but to take the cigarette and light it. He said sincerely, "Look, you two grew up together and even had a thing for a while. Why not just wish each other well and move on? We're all from the same hometown, after all. Who knows? Maybe one day, when we're old, our kids might even become friends."

He was genuinely worried that the Fitzgerald family would pull some stunt and drive Janice away. And then what? Where would the people of this town find work?

In just a few days, her factory had already hired over 500 workers, and that was just the beginning. A single factory of Prosper Stitch Group needed thousands of employees.

This Yewford Town factory was only the company's second expansion outside their main location. Luther had every reason to keep an eye on things and make sure everything went smoothly.

Simon chuckled. "Mr. Ziegler, you've got it all wrong. Janice and I just had some disagreements, that's all. Big cities are full of temptations, and she wants to spread her wings-I get it. But no matter how far someone flies, they can't forget their roots, don't you think?"

"You..." Luther let out a barely perceptible sigh. "I've got things to do, so I'll be heading off. You should go home and check in on your mother and sister."

Simon stood alone on the street, staring at the brightly lit factory in the distance. Regret hit him hard. If only he had stayed by Janice's side back then... If only he hadn't been swayed by Amelia...

Then today, he would be the one standing tall in Yewford Town.

But it wasn't too late.

After all, Janice and Edward weren't married yet. And if they weren't married, then nothing was set in stone.

At Yewford Town's most luxurious hotel, the owner had just received word—the top executive of the new factory was staying here. Without hesitation, he instructed the staff to take extra good care of Janice.

By 9:30 pm, Janice had finished reviewing the reports for the new factory. Most of the basic tasks had been arranged, and everything else could be handed off to the right people for follow-up. Just then, she heard the doorbell ring.

She glanced at Edward on the video call. "Someone's at the door."

Janice got up and walked over. "Who is it?"

"Hello, Ms. Smith, your delivery is here."

A delivery?

Through the peephole, she saw that it was indeed the hotel receptionist who had been bringing her meals over the past few days.

She opened the door, only to find the receptionist crouched down, struggling to lift an enormous bouquet of roses.

Janice stepped aside, frowning in confusion. "I didn't order flowers."

The receptionist finally managed to haul the bouquet into the room, then paused at Janice's words. "But the order has your room number on it. There's even a card, so maybe you should take a look."

Janice pulled the small card from between the roses.

Her brows furrowed immediately. Without a word, she slipped the card back into

place and asked, "Do you like these flowers?"

The receptionist blinked, caught off guard. But since this was the

woman who had single-handedly boosted Yewford Town's

employment, she still answeredet

a polite smile, "Of course. It's 666 roses. How romantic."

"Then take them. They're yours," Janice said with a smile. "Maybe get someone

to help you carry them."

The receptionist hesitated. "Are you sure you don't want them?"

"I'm sure. Thanks."

With no other choice, the receptionist called another staff member to help move the massive bouquet out of the room.

As soon as the door shut, Janice returned to her desk, only to meet Edward's gaze on the screen. His smile didn't seem quite genuine. "Simon sent them?"noveldrama

If it had been anyone else trying to pursue Janice, his security team would have already informed him.
