Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 268

"Mhm." Janice set down her pen, looking utterly baffled. "Do you think there's something wrong with his brain?"

"He's just jealous you built a factory in Yewford Town," Edward said, hitting the nail on the head. "He probably thinks that if he sweet-talks you enough, you'll go back to working for him."

"As if!" Janice smacked the table. "If Yewford Town didn't have so many skilled seamstresses and business owners, I wouldn't have come back at all."

Hating a place because of one person was completely possible.

But back when she was a kid, the neighbors had helped Seraphina. And there were so many talented seamstresses here, women who couldn't leave home even if they wanted to.

That was why she was willing to manage this factory herself.

Edward shifted the topic. "The location for the next factory has already been decided. Do you want to check it out yourself, or should I send someone?"

"I'm going myself."

"If you do, use Refined Threads Co.'s name during recruitment," Edward suggested, once again giving Refined Threads Co. a boost.

Just like how the Yewford Town factory-capable of employing 2,000 seamstresses-was publicly known as a Prosper Stitch Group investment, but in name, it was still a Refined Threads Co. branch.

When Edward said he would support Refined Threads Co., he wasn't just saying empty words.

"You already let me borrow the name once. That's enough. The other factories won't carry the Refined Threads Co. brand. I never planned on expanding the company too much. I just want to focus on high-end products."

Edward chuckled. "Refined Threads Co. does high-end products while Prosper Stitch Group does mass production. Isn't that the perfect balance?"

Something about his words softened Janice's heart. She leaned in slightly toward the screen. "Edward, you're seriously so generous."

"You mean the fact that I'm not mad even though Simon won't leave you alone?"

Janice fell silent.

"First of all, I trust you. In a relationship, trust is the most important thing. Just like how you never question what I do when I'm away. As for Simon clinging to you? That's his problem. I have no reason to take it out on you. As long as we're good, none of that matters."

His voice had a way of easing the exhaustion in her nerves.

"Edward, you're amazing."

He laughed. "Oh? You think I'm amazing?"

"Super amazing!"

"Then when are you going to marry me?"

Janice's heart skipped a beat. "Wait... Was that a proposal?"

"No," Edward said. "I know it has to be done properly."

Her cheeks warmed slightly. "I'm tired. I'm going to sleep."

Sensing her hint of shyness, Edward didn't keep her up. "Go ahead and get some rest. Your boyfriend is the boss, so you don't have to work

elf to the bone." Contex

"Got it."

Janice blew him a kiss through the screen. "Goodnight, boyfriend."

His smile deepened. "Goodnight, girlfriend."

And just like that, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

...

The next morning, Janice stuck to

Yewford Town for one more

her original plan-she would get

before heading back to Greenfield City.

Bright and early, the people she had arranged to come arrived in town. "Ms. Smith."

Audrey had been sent here on a last-minute business trip. She didn't even know what she was supposed to be doing until she got to Yewford Town. noveldrama

"Have you had breakfast yet? Join me."

At this hour? Of course, she hadn't.

Without hesitation, Audrey sat down across from Janice and ate in silence.

She had been working for Onley Group for years, but sharing a meal with the boss? That had never happened.

"Ms. Smith, I'm already halfway done with the crochet piece you asked me to make."

"Mm. Once it's done, send it straight to the product director so that they can take photos and put it up for sale."

"For sale?" Audrey was stunned. "You haven't even seen it yet, and you're putting it up just like that..."
