Chapter 663
Chapter 663 New Ally
Author's
POV.
In the dim, oppressive air of the dark den, the Dark Alpha's voice echoed with a chilling resonance. "Damon, your army is useless. It didn't help me terrorize Alpha Zander Blake," he sneered, his tone dripping with mockery.
Damon stood amidst the flickering light of a ritual circle, the golden trident in his grasp glowing faintly. He had been channeling its ancient power, weaving warlock incantations to strengthen himself for the inevitable day of destruction. The interruption was unwelcome, his irritation evident in the way his shoulders tensed.
"Don't blame my army for your incompetence!" Damon roared, his deep voice reverberating through the chamber as his concentration shattered. The dark energy around him flickered, momentarily unstable, as his fury took hold.
The Dark Alpha smirked, his hulking figure barely visible in the shadows. "Hah! Then who should I blame?" he retorted, his voice laced with mockery. "Alpha Zander's efficient warriors, perhaps? Or is it his cunning mate who's outmaneuvering you?"
The taunt was deliberate, and Damon's grip on the trident tightened. His eyes burned with a mixture of rage and determination, the golden glow of the artifact reflecting his inner turmoil.
"Careful, Dark Alpha. Your arrogance blinds you to the forces at play," he hissed, his voice low and menacing.
The Dark Alpha chuckled darkly, unfazed by Damon's warning.
"Nah. I know what I am doing. But arrogance or not, you have yet to deliver what you promised. If you fail to tip the scales before the day of destruction, your powers and your plans will mean nothing." Damon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing. He couldn't afford to lose focus now. "The scales will tip," he growled, his tone deadly. "And when they do, the universe will tremble under our combined might." Though Damon had never seen the Dark Alpha's face-just as no one else had-he knew enough. He knew the Dark Alpha's goals were as twisted and ambitious as his own. Their partnership was born out of necessity, not trust, but for now, it served its purpose. The ancient wolf was the key to Damon's ultimate power, and they could only trap her by working together. That was their plan, and they were in cahoots with the God of Destruction. With God Kaelvor on their side, they were confident that no one could stand against them. They were certain their plan would succeed without fail.
"How far along is the plan to trap Selena and bring her ancient wolf under our control?" Damon asked, his tone laced with urgency, betraying the weight of his impatience.
The Dark Alpha let out a frustrated sigh, his shadowy form shifting slightly.
"She's not going to be easily manipulated," he admitted, his tone edged with irritation.
He had tried to manipulate her in countless ways, and appearing before her as Zander Blake had been his ace trick. Yet, despite his similarity in appearance with Zander, Selena had recognized the
deception instantly. The Dark Alpha couldn't fathom how she had seen through him. It was as if she
possessed an innate ability to discern the truth, a strength that set her apart. Such a strong-willed woman she was, and it couldn't simply be the power of the mate bond. No, it couldn't be that strong. He refused to believe such a ridiculous notion, especially since he, too, shared a bond with her. So why was Zander the only one who mattered to her, the only one she held precious? The thought festered within him, fueling his growing frustration.
"She saw through every illusion," the Dark Alpha continued through gritted teeth, his frustration palpable.
"I even played my ace trick-but it didn't work on her."noveldrama
Damon's expression darkened, the golden trident in his hand pulsating faintly. "There's always a way. If we can't manipulate her mind, then we'll have to break her spirit."
The Dark Alpha tilted his head, intrigued but wary. "And how do you propose we do that?"
Damon's smile was cold and calculating. "By attacking what she holds most dear. Zander Blake is her anchor, her greatest strength. If we sever that bond, her power will crumble and so will her resistance."
"Oh, come on! We've tried that
before and failed miserably," the Dark Alpha growled in frustration. “That's a terrible idea.” He was visibly irritated, remembering how his last attempt to break Zander and Selena had failed. That foolish
vampire was planning to repeat the same mistake. It was reckless. Even Selena's refusal to marry God
Kaelvor proved how unshakable her connection to Zander Blake was. Their bond was far stronger than either of them could fathom.
Damon's grip on the trident tightened, his knuckles whitening as his confidence remained unshaken. "This time, my plan won't fail," he said with venomous certainty, his voice a dangerous whisper. "She will fall, and when she does, the ancient wolf will be ours."
"What do you have in mind?" the Dark Alpha asked, his voice laced with intrigue, his brows furrowed as he leaned in closer.
"We have a new ally," Damon replied, a dark smirk playing on his lips. His tone was dripping with anticipation.
As he spoke, a shadow emerged
from the far corner of the room, and the moment the figure stepped into the dim light, the Dark Alpha's
expression twisted into a wickedet
grin. His eyes gleamed with malicious satisfaction. Now there was no way Selena and Zander could escape the fate that awaited them. Their resistance was about to shatter, and this new weapon was the final nail in their coffin.
