Chapter 665
Chapter 665 My World
I agreed to his plan; it seemed foolproof. But my only worry lingered-there was still no sign of Oliver, my half-brother. If the rest of my family was alive, then surely Oliver must be alive as well. The thought sent a shiver through me as I remembered what Zander had told me about him and the depths of my family's darkness.
I struggled to accept that my entire family could be so corrupt, so deeply involved in criminal activities... except my mother. How could I have come from such a twisted lineage?
"What's wrong, mate?" Zander asked, his voice gentle yet concerned, as if sensing the storm brewing inside me.
I hesitated, unsure of how to express the turmoil in my heart. What would he think of me-his mate- coming from such a wicked family?
"Umm... Zander, I was thinking about Oliver," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "There's still no trace of him."
Zander nodded knowingly. "I've thought about that too. Don't worry," he assured me, his tone steady. "My people are already looking into it."
He glanced at Maddox, who gave a subtle nod of confirmation, further easing the tension in the room. There was a knock at the door, and Maddox groaned, his frown deepening as he stood. The look on his face said it all-his mate was here.
"What's wrong?" I asked, amused by his odd reaction.
"Please don't tell Blair anything about this," he implored, turning to Zander with a pleading expression. "But why?" I protested, my brows furrowing. "She's your mate, after all. She deserves to know everything that's going on, especially as the Beta's mate."
Zander remained silent, his expression unreadable. He didn't intervene, perhaps torn between favoring his sister and respecting his Beta's wishes.noveldrama
"I know, Luna," Maddox admitted with a sigh, "but she's stubborn. If she finds out, she'll insist on getting involved, and I can't let her. I don't want her walking into something dangerous."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. These alphas and betas were ridiculously overprotective when it came to their mates, acting as if we were made of glass and would shatter at the first sign of risk.
"That's ridiculous," I said flatly.
Blair was just as strong as I was. I knew because we she-wolves had more strength in our minds than in our hearts, and that's what matters most in a war.
"Yes, Beta maddox," Zander supported me as he stood beside me and wrapped his arms around my shoulder. "My Luna is right. "And he gestured toward the door. "Go and call her in."
Maddox sighed, knowing he couldn't defy his Alpha's orders. Reluctantly, he walked to the door and cracked it open, revealing Blair's beautiful face. Her curious eyes studied him, a playful smile already forming on her lips.
"Come inside," Maddox whispered softly, and Blair's grin widened in triumph as she stepped through the doorway.
"So, what's going on, guys?" she asked in her usual playful tone, her gaze flitting between Zander and me. Zander and I exchanged amused smiles, while Maddox's expression remained unreadable.
"Blair, have a seat," Zander said, gesturing to a chair nearby.
Blair glanced at Maddox, who avoided her gaze, his face a mask of hesitation. Sensing the tension, she didn't argue and settled into the chair without a word.
"It's time," I said softly, my tone laced with encouragement.
Zander nodded, inhaling deeply as if steeling himself for the weight of what we were about to share.
We needed to tell them everything. The secrets, the dangers, the battle looming ahead. This war wasn't just ours anymore-it was going to be all of us against fate.
"Oh my God, I can't believe this," Blair exclaimed, her voice filled with shock. "You mean to say the world is going to end?"
"Calm down, Blair," Zander said, his tone steady and reassuring. "We're here to discuss whether the
prophecy is true and, if it is, how we can stop it. So don't panic. We're in this together." en
Blair exhaled loudly, clearly trying to process everything. "But still... I haven't even started planning a family, and Maddox and I haven't even celebrated our first anniversary,” she said, her pretty face falling with disappointment. "There's so much I haven't done yet
in this life."
I stood and walked over to her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Blair," I said gently, meeting her eyes. "Nothing will happen to the world-my world."
My vow was more than just words; it was a promise etched into my very soul. As a descendant of the Moon Goddess and Queen of the Lunar Realm, I bore the responsibility for protecting this world. And I would do whatever it took to save it, even if the ultimate sacrifice was my own.
"You are not alone in this, Selena," Zander said, stepping up beside me. His presence was steady and comforting, and I smiled, knowing my alpha mate was my pillar of strength.
"Yes, Luna, we're all with you in this," Maddox added, his tone firm, while Blair nodded in determined agreement.
Suddenly, Maddox fell silent, his expression shifting as if receiving a mind-link.
"Alpha, we've detected some mysterious activity near the western border," he informed Zander, his voice serious.
Zander stiffened immediately. "Let's go, then," he commanded without hesitation.
"Let me come with you," I said urgently, stepping toward him.
"No, Selena," Zander insisted, his
tone firm but gentle. “Let me handle this. I'll update you once I know more. Without waiting for further discussion, he left the room with
Maddox in tow.
I sighed, watching them go.
"So, what are we going to do?" Blair asked, turning to me. The spark in her eyes mirrored my thoughts.
Clearly, she was on the same wavelength, ready to act despite the alpha's instructions.
What do you think?
