Chapter 554 Scammer
Chapter 554 Scammer
Back then, Frank was a proud young man from a good family. He was no exception to Iris’s charms,
however.
It was as if he had been placed under a spell. He frequently went to the film set to look for Iris, but he
failed to see her every time. The production crew told him she had gone back to Lotharia and that she
had gotten together with another actor, Charles Griffin.
He thought that they had been lying to him, but he later heard that she had returned to Merania from
Lotharia and was staying at a hotel.
That night, he went to the hotel.
She happened to be stepping out of her room when he was about to knock on the door.
She looked at him.
After he told her who he was, she let him into the room.
The room was filled with the fragrance of her perfume.
Frank was completely entranced by it.
Naturally, Iris and Frank slept together that very night itself.
He didn’t expect her to agree to it so readily.
When they were done, Iris wrapped her arms around his neck and breathed into his ear, “I don’t want to
keep being in the limelight anymore, and I want to switch to working in the background. I want to set up
a film production company, but my dad is against it and refuses to fund me. I’m thinking of setting it up
in Genovia. What do you think?”
At that time, Frank wasn’t as thick-skinned as he was now. Even if Iris had been holding a gun to his
head and forcing him to pay up, he would’ve found a way to do it, let alone the fact that she had only
been asking him for his opinion. He was the one who wanted to provide the funds for her.
“I think it’s a good idea. How much do you need?”
“Maybe about a million dollars. Is it too much for you to handle? It’s fine if you can’t fork out that much.”
Frank didn’t want her to see how hard it was for him, so he gritted his teeth and said, “It’s fine. There’s
no way I’ll allow my woman to fork out her own money.”
“Then let’s treat this as you investing in my company. I’ll give you bonuses in the future.” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Iris was pretty good in bed. She had good looks, and she had a way with words. Because of this, Frank
was completely under her spell. The moment he got home, he told his father that he needed a million
dollars to “set up a new project”. Once he had the money, he gave it all to Iris.
A million dollars back then was equivalent to ten million now.
Just as Frank was busy dreaming about their future together, Iris suddenly cut off all contact with him.
A year later, he received a check for two million dollars as well as a note that read, “This is your
repayment. Don’t mention a word about what happened between us.”
This meant that Iris was kicking him to the curb.
Frank couldn’t help thinking about how ruthless and heartless she had been.
He thought of her as his first love, yet she had been nothing but a scammer. He felt humiliated by this,
so he didn’t mention this to anyone. In his heart, however, he hated Iris deeply. As Iris’s business
expanded, her net worth gradually surpassed his, and he didn’t have the guts to bring their past up.
Later, he met Shirley. She had a gentle personality and loved him with all her heart. They quickly got
married and started a family. Perhaps it was an aftereffect of his relationship with Iris—he felt that any
woman who didn’t lie to him was a good one, and he treated Shirley well.
Frank and Iris were the only two people who knew about this, so why was someone suddenly bringing
this up after so many years, and at Joseph’s wedding ceremony at that? Were they trying to ruin his
wedding?
Everyone said that Clarissa was the one who started the rumor.
Thus, he decided to ask her about it directly.
Apparently, Clarissa was currently at Damien’s house. Frank braved himself to go there on Sunday
morning.
Unfortunately for him, Clarissa wasn’t around. Damien was the only one in the house.
